View Full Version : Show & Tell Monday Eve

I decided to start a S&T, since I am quite thrilled with my "artichoke" aka fish scale beads. I am soo into making these now that I cannot stop. Seems I have found that precision is more my thing than abstract, I guess I need the "dicipline". LOL! With absracts I tend to overdo and sometimes ruin the bead.
Hope you like them.

Those are just beautiful! I have nothing to show today. :(

Those are great beads. I made some puffer fish for a special order with that technique on a hollow bead. It was fun.

I must try that technique! Very nice. Here is my Key Lime set. :p

I actually have some beads to show today - I think it's the first time I've posed any in a Show and Tell thread. This first one was made for a nurse who lives across the street. She's a L&D nurse so of course she requested pink and blue. Sorry the picture is so big, but if I didn't make it this big, looking at it made me feel like I was looking at it crosseyed. I don't know why it looks dirty in this picture. Must be how it's reflecting the light. I took it over to her yesterday and she was absolutely thrilled with it and couldn't believe I made it.

These chokers were made for my SIL and my mother. My brother was VERY impressed with the one for my mom - and he's very hard to please. He does Lapidary and doesn't consider lampwork to be that difficult or that much of an art form at all. Mom tells me as soon as he saw it he walked over to it, examined it closely, and asked if I made it because it looks just like banded agate. I guess that's how to impress him - make something that looks like a rock.

Have a great evening everyone!!!

Great beads! I love the pink and blue heart! The fish scales are nice- very defined and even! I think the last beads do look like rocks! Great Job all and thanks for sharing.

Nice stuff, everyone!
Linda, I really like the scales, that's something I need to work on.
Kay, love the heart!

I really posted these the other day, but I'm so pleased with the new photo of the red vessel, I just had to show it. I really think this vessel is just about the best thing I've ever done.
So here is so-so photo and pretty good photo!

Linda ~ I love your fish scales!!! I keep meaning to try that technique, but never seem to get around to it! Maybe this evening....

Kay ~ Cool heart and chokers! I love the bottom one!

Nicole ~ Great spring color!

Joensey ~ Awesome vessels!

Here's my contribution...some fun with rubino and a plunged floral pendant!

Linda - I love those! I never tried this technique, I would probably dunk mine in the water can and make frit!

Nicole - Yummy lime color, is that Bullseye?? I love the encased frit beads!

Kay - Very nice heart shape, and I love the "agate" beads! The swirly-whirly stuff is just about all I do right now! I hate my dot beads.

Joensey - The bottom pic- *THUD* Oh my! :D

Sue - Pretty little Springtime beads! Very pretty encased floral, I wish I could do those. :(

Here's a swirly-whirly "Waves" focal. I don't know why, but I just cannot get my camera to focus on this bead. So it remains off of ebay until I can get a decent picture of it!

The vase is in the style of Rita - thank you Rita for teaching me!!! Really like how it turned out however I am not able to clean the bottom bery well. Any suggestions?

Totally awsome stuff. I'm all about those fish scales. I was at a teacher's conference all weekend so I didn't get much torch time in. Here's a couple of boro sets that I have done.
