ok this time i first used goldenrod to color in all the areas that will be gold or yellow...I then used imperial violet to darken and sharpen all the shadows.
when I go over it with the lighter colors it won't be quite so harsh looking.

Highly droolworthy.
It makes me wanna sneak up with a bottle of "Silver Black" acid and go spritzing away! But I won't. Congratulations, this is looking great!
HOW long have you been practicing with pencils, again?

thanks all again...unfortunately, i wasn't able to work on this at all today...errands and then tonight i had the pleasure of taking 5 nine year olds to the movies to celebrate my daughters birthday, which was August 22nd.
Now they're in the playroom with loud music, food, and karaoke...believe me 4 (one didn't sleepover) high pitched, squeaky voiced preteens...ACCKKK!!!
Jen this is my 7th drawing since coming back to cp...and stay away with that silver black!!!
Glad to show you the process...just was afraid of clogging up the forum with all these scans...hope to have another one tomorrow...when i'm using all the colors and working my way from top to bottom burnishing.

Here's the scan where I started burnishing...What I've done now is start at the top, using any pencils needed to get the effect I was looking for...different yellow's, oranges, light blues, and of course cool grey and white. Now I apply alot more pressure to blend all the colors and hopefully get the smooth look of metal.

Starting to really shine now, I keep looking at the reflections trying to decide if I can figure out what exactly they are reflections of ;)
