Another recent "hardboard" experiment....they are very "unarchival" I'm afraid... I basically stain the board with the paint then polish the excess away, adding layers in this manner till I get the desired effect. They may not last but I like the way that the wood shows through, and any flaws in the board add to the effect as they absorb paint differently than surrounding areas....we'll see how they hold up. Anyway, here is....

Sounds like an interesting process. :) I like that palette. Do you seal them? I think maybe the decomposition might add to the art itself.

Hi Tamana, yes I agree that the "transitory" nature of these might be part of the appeal. It certainly is for me.... I just don't know yet HOW transitory they are ;)...
I would like to seal them but they aren't ready yet...if you rub a white cloth on them you still pick up color. I have even considered a layer of beeswax but have yet to find any locally, but that could be done later when I get some in. Thanks for looking...
