I'm not sure if I am done yet, but I am at a resting point.

The painting is 30" x 40" and done in oils.

Comments and critiques are welcome!

I like what I'm seeing so far. Reminds me of early Peter Max.

Thanks for the comments! The comparison to Peter Max was surprising to me, but I definitely see a similarity now. Huh! What do you know?

I have some friends who are Peter Max fans, I will have to send them a note.

Although I could play with it more, I am happy with the result so I will move on.

The idea came from meeting another artist who has flowing hair like the painting, the kind that almost flows horizontally. Then I added in many other hairstyles. The hair is bold and contrasts with the face which is just simple geometric strokes. After all, women are sometimes slaves to their hair. Hair can be a defining feature in our concept of self.

Thanks for all comments!

Oh yeah! The vibrancy of the last is killah. It's the soft olive face that does it for me. :)
