This is another painting that I have done in the Harbour series. This too is Cruden Bay Scotland. The fishermen have come home and the nets are strung out to dry. It was low tide.

I love the brooding sky and the way you captured the transparency of the nets!

Hi Judy,
Great job on the nets with a dramatic sky backdrop. Good depth with the distant mountains and midground building. A very accomplished work.

Thank you both. I forgot to mention that it is 16x20, painted with water soluable oils. As I said in the oil forum, it is "almost" a plein aire painting. The rain started coming down in sheets so I headed for the car. I painted for awhile in the car then gave up and finished it up in the hotel.

This is a superb piece of work, Judy. The brooding sky and the way it's reflected in the water is great and the depiction of the nets just couldn't be better. Well Done indeed!

Judy,

Very nicely done! Love that sky! Good composition and perspective... especially on those nets!

Thanks Rhi. I've been a little unsure about this one because it was in a very nice gallery here and didn't sell. :crying:
You know how insecure we artists can be.
