here's a new one. this was kind of an experiment too, using really thin layers of acrylic for a watercolor effect combined with charcoal on unprimed paper...

the image of mary came from a christmas card i found. i don't know who did the original but i liked it.

I LOVE this!!! I saved it to my hard drive collection. It ROCKS! You are on a roll, I think.

Her expression; the simplification of form and the powerful color come together to create a modern icon. WONDERFUL!!!

your handling is continually impressive (thanks for the insight on process)
I see a continuity with the eyes in your work, you've got a way with those windows

what a wonderfully mysterious madonna figure. it seems the best ones are always wearing blue.... your experiment seems to have worked just fine ! the lines in her face are strong but not distracting and seem to be evenly painted...not easy to do... im with everyone else...this is great.
