Maryann, wonderful motion and contrasts! I love the feel of this...but I get sooo seasick.

How do you paint on a sailboat? 'Must be tough!

Hi, just had to peek in here to look - this is an amazing painting. The energy of the waves and the rocking of the boat are so powerful - I'm getting seasick just looking at it - :)

Excellent work!

Gives the term *storm tossed* real meaning. Great motion.

Having been in really bad weather, experiencing my "fifteen minutes of terror", as my husband and I call it, this made me very uncomfortable.

Which is a way of saying this is a very successful painting, capturing the mood of a hurricane.

Thank you all for your comments. I am sorry some of you felt seasick, thank God I have no problem with sea sickness. Iknow of some women who sail and have sea sickness, not very pleasant for them.
I have submitted a watercolor on the same theme under critque since I seem to have a hard time putting a new thread into the marine forum. I use quick link, image loader and nothing happens.

The reason I wanted to do this scene again is to prove to myself I really did the first time. I am starting to get the feel for the waves and it is becoming quite a lot of fun to reworking them. So muchchanges with just a few strokes.
I am planning another see scene with the boat more prominent.

I love WCanvas, and enjoy all suggestions given.

Hi Mary Ann,
Fabulous storm ocean with a wonderful perspective of big ocean, little ship. Should stir the memories (probably mostly bad) of all who have been in a similar situation. Very well done.
