Here's a helmet i'm working on....most of the art is done, I havn't started clearing it yet...i think it might make it a little better to photo...it's a skydive helmet..the idea is that he was landing so fast..it caught the grass on fire..thanks for looking...Rod-Man

This is great Rod-Man! I got the idea before I read your text! Was this done for a client or is this you scorching the grass!?

What do you skydivers call it when you intentionally skip across some water on a landing?

It's for a client...my helmets look like....well...a mess....LOL...when they do the landing while skimming the water it's called "Pond Swooping"..this guy might be doing what they call "Surfing the turf"..Thans and catch you later...Rod-Man

RodMan,

Very cool. Nice clean look. Someone locally was asking about painting helmets for motorcycles and I told them this forum would be a good place to learn. Not sure if he has even had time to look yet.

Did you do the caricature Rod? I love caricatures and 'toons but I have found they look easier to do than they really are, at least for me.

I think it would be cool to see you do another similar helmet with a guy "pond swooping"! A straight on perspective with the water in a huge rooster tail going off to either side!

Hi Rod-Man! The helmet looks great! I've painted a FEW helmets in my time----they are VERY DIFFICULT to do, painting on a rounded surface like that!!! Painting tanks are hard enough, with the rounded surface, and the detail you need to get. I can't say that I would want to tackle another helmet. They are much harder to do than they appear!! You do a great job on them!
