Believe it or not, I just found this forum. I knew Scott was considering it but I didn't know when it was actually uploaded. Gosh I'm late.

I posted this on the initial "do you want a marine forum" thread but just for the record I'm putting it here. This was from a photo I took on our fishing trip up the Columbia River and into the swells of the Pacific ocean...5 a.m. I just really liked the photo and wanted to give a try at the waves. I know there isn't really a focal point per se but ...does it work?

Of course there's a focal point, Di - The sunburst and its magnificent radiation across the waves! It works beautifully and is a really lovely painting. I could look at this one for ages. Well Done.

Hi Dianne,

Thats a good sun rise. I think the sunrise and the light is the focal point. It needs nothing else. Thats the nice thing about painting. We can take that brief moment in time and express it in a way that a photo can never do. Everybody loves sun rises and sun sets.

I agree with everyone else, it looks fine, the sun works as the focal point. Nice fish too! Lorijo

Hi Dianne,
I'm really happy to see this one again. The foreground colour is just wonderful, as is the movement in the water and the way you have handled the light. Quite a remarkable piece.

This is a beautiful piece Dianne!
Excellent job on the waves, and beams of sunlight.
I really like the splashing waves in the foreground with your rich bouquet of colours.

Great catch too! :)
