I'm not certain which forum it should go in, but I don't think it should be this one. Do the moderators have a suggestion?

Artest suffer from mentalillness more than any other profession.

I'd be interested to know where you got this information. Is it just something you've heard or do you have statistics to back it up. My gut feeling is that it's not true. I was under the impression that the highest rate of mental illness is, ironically, among mental health professionals.

I don't think this issue merits its own forum...perhaps Creativity Corner or maybe even Debates.

Like coyote, I hear this quoted a good deal, but I've never seen any statistical evidence for it. I think artists may well be "different" from the population in general and different-ness may be defined as mental illness by many, but that's just prejudice, not a diagnosis.

However, it has been much discussed here before and you might like to check these threads out:

Hi Josh. WetCanvas is a large site and can be a little overwhelming to find the right forums.

This forum is for announcements regarding member's personal news and achievements, such as being featured in a magazine, getting a big commission, winning a prize in a show, gallery show events, workshops, etc.

Since your post does not really relate to this, I'm going to close the thread. I'd encourage you to post your topic in another forum.

If you are suggesting that WC have a forum related to mental illness and the arts, it would be most appropriate to suggest it in Site Discussions (http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=8).

The Cafe Guerbois (http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=26) is a good choice if you want a more light-hearted discussion.

Debates (http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=25) would be good if you want some VERY heated discussions and arguments on the topic.

If you need help with the site, there is a New Users forum where you can ask questions.
