Hi everyone...After I posted this piece in the watercolor gallery I thought maybe it should be here also. This piece was inspired by my daughters Chelsea and Darcy when they were 3 and 5. (They arenot 15 & 18)..I added the angel wings for fun...Hope you all like it... :)
Hi Cheryl!
This has the look of the old stickers I collected as a child, but still unique from them..and really attractive, love the tiny features..
question is...do you STILL think they are little angels??:D:D:D
enjoy your precious children while they are under your roof..

Reminds me of one of those vintage Victorian era postcards... I love it!
They grow so fast don't they?

Hi Rosic,
Me too...I wanted to give it that feel. Reminds me of the postcards my grandparents sent to each other while courting in the early 1900's. I had fun with it and am going to do more. You can probably see I was not very distinct around the nose area. One false and the could have looked like Jimmy Durante lol...Thanks for your knid words. :)

Cheryl, I am so touched by those beautiful little faces:) You have given them a glow that reaches out and makes me smile. I have always loved angels, and little angels expecially. You did a beautiful job on this:) As for the noses, well, they really don't have to be distinct especially in watercolor. Children's noses haven't developed yet, so a few little shadows around the nose and a slightly deeper shadow for the nostrils. I like this piece just as it is:)

Hi Sassy...
Thank you so much for your reply...I loved painting this little piece. I wish it would have scanned better as I used irridescent medium on the face and wings which gives it a sweet glow that you cannot see here...Thanks again !

OHHH, I wish we could see the irridescent sparkle but you are right it is impossible for me to photo my irridescent pastels in their true sense also. Very sweet painting , nostalgic.
