Hi guys! I am excited about these and didn't want to hog the show & tell, so started a thread of my own. I know how you all hate eye candy and all, but please bear with me. Hehe. :p

Here is the biggest floral I have made yet. 19mm by 21mm
http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/22-Mar-2004/24464-whopperonrod.JPG

Here is a floral whose base I made by following a tip I read here. I am sorry I don't remember who posted it! :( Copper green with a hairline stringer of mosaic cooked into it...turned really pretty colors. Next time I am going to cook it longer and see what happens.
http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/22-Mar-2004/24464-mosaicmixfloral2.JPG

Here is a set of three focals I did for a lady who emailed me and asked for them. I have decided that making the same bead over and over isn't my favorite thing to do. LOL
http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/22-Mar-2004/24464-blueflorals.JPG

And finally, a 'set' I made with a striped cane that I made. It is a rod of clear that I striped a bunch of the new hand-pulled opaque colors onto, then pulled it out without twisting. Some of the bead bases are white, some are opal yellow. The 'orchid' looking flower in the big tab is a white and clear striped cane I made. I am going to have to work on that.

Mary!

Those are gorgeous!!!!

I still can't believe you make those on a hot head with propane!! And NO, I am not dis-ing the HH. It is just rare for me to do anything large or complicated with transparent glass and propane that doesn't get brown scum!!!!

Mary,

Beautiful, each and every one! I especially like the copper green floral and will try that one. But I also think your orchid and last set are really neat. You've inspired me :)

Ooo, they're all so very nice. I love your color choices.
I understand your comment about making the same bead over and over, but when it comes to florals, when I start making them, I can't stop.
Great job, they're beautiful.

Thanks you guys!

Sheryll, you are the person who sent me my first little chunk of copper green. All those months ago when it was your very last rod, and impossible to find more, you cut it in half and gave some to me! How could I not do my best to try and learn how to use it? :)

Linda, LOL. Yep, HH and propane. I get a fair amount of satisfaction being able to make big stuff so cheap! I do have to say though, that big pink floral took an hour to make and I was sick of working on it by the time it was done! Usually I don't mind working slow, but that one pushed the envelope.

Rose, if you try that copper green thing, make sure the mosaic green stringer is hair-thin. Just swirl it around randomly then cook the crap out of it. The mosaic green spreads like wildfire and will take over fast so use sparingly. Good luck and please show what you come up with.

Bluelizzy, I could make florals all night...I just don't like making them the same colors. I still had a good time making them, I would just rather they be different. Funny thing is that florals aren't my favorite kind of beads to look at. They just seem to be what I like to make. I love building up all those layers! :D I love to encase too...I know, I am sick and need to seek professional help.

Thanks again all of ya!

Thank you! Even though this set was my favorite of all I made that night, it was the one I thought wouldn't go over well. I didn't think anyone would like it but me. I named it 'Wispy Orchid' when I put it up for sale, and I would have been perfectly happy if it hadn't sold and I got to keep it, but it was gone quickly.

I wish I were better at naming them!

Mary,

You amaze me with your florals, they are beautiful! Big beads too, the perfect shape for center focals. They would look wonderful as wire wrapped pendants with a nice bail.

The orchid at the bottom, [email protected]! It also amazes me that you're doing this on the HH! I'm getting betting at encasing, but as for me and florals, I have a loooong way to go! :D

Wanna see more!!

Thanks Debbie! :)

Yes, they all went on eBay around the same time. Only the big one is left though. Our own Ms. Booger got the copper green one! :D I am very happy about that.

I was so worried about selling on ebay, but it turns out I am having a really nice time!

Hi Mary, I am new around here. My name is Sky. Very nice work! Getting big is loads of fun. Repeating the same bead is tedeaous but rewarding in the challenge. Keep up the beautiful work.

Mary you were such an inspiration. I always get flustered when making encased anything, especially florals. Well after hearing several times to use a brass tool to move the glass over at the edges and then melting each edge first, I finally have two good encased beads. The second one was a floral. Thank you again!

Truly beautiful beads, Mary...boy, they just flow right along like poetry in glass. Major floral envy here...I better start trying to do them again, or it is never gonna happen, what major inspiration yours are. - God Bless your day - Virginia L.

Those are BEAUTIFUL!!! Love the big one and the one with the orchid especially! Anyone wanting to share some tips on encased florals, please do so! I have trouble keeping the petals on the edges of the bead from "sliding" when I encase them. And I try to keep my bead cool, it's when I start to melt the clear when I am rounding out the bead that they have a tendancy to run. Not much, but a little, and I am not satisfied until they are perfect. Thanks! Donna, please PM me with your thoughts...... :)
