Fantastic image Ordie4! I love the brooding colorscheme and the gather stormy human clouds.

"All we are saying is give peace a chance."

This reminds me of Goya. Nice emotional impact o4.

Very cool. The sky at the top of the painting seems disharmonious with the action of the rest of it. as if you are painting in two different styles in seperate parts of the painting. If it can be done without damaging an otherwise great work, I'd consider reworking the sky.

The colours and the darkness depict an angry crowd. Hense protest. So, yep, it works well

They could all be running from the flames in the b/ground too.

hey all,

thanks for the comps.
i've got two more in
a similar vein i've done,
i'll post them when i've
had time to take photos....

jb, do you have any
suggestions? i am afraid
if i continue some of
the black into the sky
it might lose some of the
impact of the crowd....

If you cant do it safely, don't do it. maybe it would be sufficient to do the same style or techique in the sky with no black. Its a very cool painting though, don't wreck it.. maybe just go on to the next, and keep it in mind. I'd hate to give you advice that could hurt a painting.

wrenching image
very raw
awesome darkness
I can see the niggle with the sky thing
and I agree don't mess if it's going to mess it up
there are a few patches in the crowd that come close to the same treatment
I think there's enough cohesion (though some subtle linework/black in the sky might boost it or more sky in the crowd, either way)
it's all good tho, this is one intense piece
looking forward to seeing the others

I see violence, anger and conflagration. It's great.

I agree with frac that the background seems out of place. I would have continued the figures all the way to the top.
The painting is really powerful, other than that bit.
