Hi Alan I've bought some hilltribe silver from a seller on ebay, very nice. She has also sent me a newsletter out of Thailand offering to sell me varioius hilltribe silver. I did not see a store front on ebay ora link to an about me page , but if you use the ask seller email I am sure she will reply. Bead_gemboree is her handle. Very good service and nice product. Here is a link to a site I found. No experience with them, I was just doing a little surfing looking for Hill Tribe myself.

The Fire Mountain Gems Jan - March 2004 supplement to their catalog has about 6 pages of Hill Tribe beads. You can order their catalogs online at http://www.firemountaingems.com (http://www.firemountaingems.com/).

Fire Mountain offers good discounts for large quantities. Is there any way a bunch of us could get together to order Hill Tribe and Bali silver? I need more but I'd like to save some $$$ while getting it.

I was going to suggest the same page as M_ .... can't beat the price!!! Next time I'm ordering, that's where I'm going.

My current (dwindling) stash of Hill Tribe silver came from www.youandmesilver.com - they have a nice range, but they are often out of stock of a lot of styles - I did a bulk buy and we received about 2/3 of our total order - the rest was out of stock.

I have two whole shows under my belt, but the best prices I've seen have been at the shows ... here are the websites: http://www.beadshows.com/
and http://www.intergem.com Maybe one of the shows is coming to a location that's close to you.

I thought I kept the cards of the people I bought from but I can't find the info ...

Alan,

Try this link:

http://www.allseason.com/finding/ThaiSilverBeads.htm

The beads are very similar and prices are less than Fire Mountain. I've used this company many times with good results.

If you go to my web site, you'll see a link on the left to my resource directory that has a lot of jewelry making links. :)

There is a booth at Bead and Button in Milwaukee that has tons of Hill Tribe silver! I will look for their catalogue. It's nice quality and when you buy larger quantities, you get bigger discounts. Guess you need to go to B&B! :D

Helllo, all. Alan, I don't know if the prices are comparable now, but when I was doing a search, I found http://www.jewelweaver.com to be excellent, and their service could not be bead. Very personal attention, even though I only ordered a small amount, and they do give volume discounts. I will warn that their site is cumbersome, but that seems to be the case with many places.

I hope this helps.

Barbara, there's a Yahoo group that exists just to put together group buys from Fire Mountain Gems a few times a year. You can find it here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/fmgbuys/

Hi everyone. My first post in the wearable art forum, usually just lurk between watercolors and here, but actually have some useful information to share here. I'm going to sound like a testimonial here, but I would definitely go with Fire Mountain Gems for this. They are a wholesale provider, but you don't need to have a tax id number to order from them. Their assortability program applies to absolutely everything they sell, so the more you buy, the cheaper your price for each individual item, and we all love that!!! Plus, I've ordered from them more times than I can count, both large and small orders, and whether it's been through their website, over the phone, or through their catalog, their people have been fantastic and friendly. If you want to save on shipping, they do a flat rate $5 FedEx standard shipping, but their other rates are very reasonable too. They have an entire thirty pages dedicated to hill tribes silver in their 2008-2009 catalog, and usually, they have more items for sale on their website, www.firemountaingems.com. Finally, and this is super important to me, though it may not be to you, they are dedicated to sourcing socially responsible jewelry supplies of the highest quality, and to paying the artisans who make them a livable wage, not like many other companies do. They have all this and much more information on their website. You can request a free catalog from them by visiting their website and signing up. Hope this helps. I'll get off of my soapbox now. :D
