View Full Version : Blakney Anchorage

This was originally posted in the Acrylics Forum a few months ago but I'm delighted we now have a subject specific forum for seascapes. It's one of my favourite subjects and I know I've missed lots by not having the time to visit all the medium specific forums.

This is of the anchorage at Blackney on the Norfolk Coast from a personal reference photo taken last summer. The original is 16 x 12.

I like your composition and your attention to detail on the boats, and masts.

I'm delighted we have this forum too :)

Great job on the boats. I love the red near the water on the nearest boat.

Hi Joy,
Very nice work for your first post in the forum. I like your fine work on the rigging, not easy to do. Well done.

Thanks Sandy, Lorijo, Leaflin, Marion, AlanC, Marty and Alan. Your comments are much appreciated.

Yes, Blakney is an idyllic little spot, Alan. |We have visited many times over the years both by road and by sea. Hopefully we shall have the chance to do so again this summer.

This is a wonderful painting Joy. Good composition and prespective. I would have gotten lost in that rigging. Don't know one line from another.

I didn't even know this forum was here until you mentioned it today. I think I just may have some things to post.

Nice composition Joy. The scene seems so peaceful. I Like the way you used the blues and mixed in the reds. Nice job
