Hi all, this is the totempole I helped design for my friend Leisa's sister Laurie's surprise bonvoyage trip to Alaska. That is Laurie in the picture. I pieced the design together from pics we had of various pieces, and some books I own.

Then Leisa did all the cutting, and painted according to a mini sketch I left for her. Total time 3 days. It faced the door as Laurie came in, and I am told was a big hit with her. Leisa donated the totem to her aunt's 1st grade class room in Brooklyn... well just goes to show what a little ply wood, foam core, tempera paint and 2 art buds can do!

Bobby, this is so cool    I am sure your friend was delighted with it. To donate it to a elementry school class is an act of kindness and selflessness. A great job!

Great Totem !! I worked in Alaska for many years and they are really neat objects and the people that create them are great. And is this you in the picture with it?
