Ok this is my first nude.... Its from a photo, I dont have the photographers name though. I know realism isnt as popular here as in the sketching forum, but I'm thinking of trying this again with a charcoal stick and just trying to capture the feel of it rather than the details
Thanks Todd for directing me here.
have at me :-)

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the compliments.
Oh and the anti realism thing. I didnt mean anything bad by that...just that expressive works were admired here. Which is a very good thing. Actually I was probably giving myself an excuse for if it wasn't liked :-P

I feel sorry for her, having all those ribs and no flesh on her. (BITCH)
Good job!
I spent some time about a year back on the OSU campus visiting a few friends of mine who are studying there. GO BUCKS! :D

IlliniPoke-
I don't see that you mentioned your medium...(graphite??).
Very solid drawing...your edges, structure..is VERY crisp (for lack of a better word). This figure just stands out, and it is due to the success of your drawing. A lot of impact with this one....very *clean* drawing...it makes the figure appear very...clear.
Very nice to see your work here. Thank you for posting..(and thanks Todd!!) ;)

Michael.. Yup, graphite. The blackest parts were done by something called a "Nero" pencil...not sure if its graphite, or some kind of graphite carbon mix or exactly what it is. Much blacker than an 8b pencil.
Deevaa.... I'm sure for her to get so ribby she gave up all food, her cat, her boyfriend, a social life, sex, life savings, TV, and breathing. Her days are consumed by her running to any man with a camera.....taking off her shirt, raising her arms in the air and saying......."Look!.....Ribs!" ;-)
I loved stillwater when I was in school there. I get to go back once in a while.....would love to find a job there and move back.
Shameless web page plug.

Hell, IlliniPoke -- I don't have a cat, my boyfriend is long distance, a social life?? what the hell is that? sex? life savings? ditto. ... I could be here, just gotta give up eating, and maybe breathing!
wnabors ... just you hush, I saw that great butt you just got done with!
But really, I'd pose... really.... I think.

IlliniPoke,
I thought that was a photograph. Excellent job.
And this is your first nude? What have you done in the past, because you obviously did not start drawing yesterday?
Lastly, how well does the Nero pencil blend with graphite? Just curious because graphite is more "shiny" while Nero pencil goes on somewhat like crayon (OK, not exactly).

damn near pin-up perfection!
the only crit I can come up with is that the armpit area lacks definition, even with no hair (:() there is usually ligament highlights and a hollow ... but every model is different ... with the level of expertise this shows, I'm inclined to think that's how it was.
looking forward to seeing more of your work!

You're very good with a pencil.
Congratulations. That's one of the best "firsts" I've seen.
More!:)
