Alan,

I absolutely love this painting! Your choice of colours is excellent! Love the feel of the water. The vivid colours and details of the boats just draw you right into it and makes you wonder where they are going. :D

Great job!

Hi Alan,
What great work! What I especially like about this one is that not only have you unified it with the same colours in sea and sky you have also largely replicated the same movement in sea and sky - wonderful. I like the skill you have displayed using warm to cool colours in the boats, it sets up very good recession and depth and the pinks in the sky make a great area of transition. Very impressive piece, Alan, with works like this I can hardly wait for more.

hehe, the sky makes me giggle..it's so 'tumbly'! like it's having fun!:D:D

the boats are masterful!
would like to see a bit of green repeated perhaps, in the water...but most of your work is so view-able...:)
it's my intetion to work on some of your demos after Easter...but in acrylic..

Superb watercolour, Alan. We had a boat for many years cruising the Humber Estuary and the North Sea and I've seen just the scene you've depicted so many times - boats in convoy - late on the tide and meticulously following the channel. Well Done.

A lovely painting Alan, puts me in mind of the D Day crossing when all the little boats set out to rescue our lads in distress on the beaches of Normandy.
