This is a painting that I just varnished and framed a couple of weeks ago. It's now hanging in a show. It was done from a compilation of references.

C&C welcome.

Oops...Sorry! Alan, it is a small oil on canvas, 11X14.

Mairrca, many thanks!

Chameleon, thank you. Yes it is for sale. As far as I know, it has not sold yet. It will be there for another 10 days or so. There are lots of artists in the show and as of last week, no paintings were marked as sold. :( I have four in this show, but only one is a Marine scene. I guess lakes don't count!

Looks really good Jamie, I like it fine the way it is. I was thinking the light in the house could be brighter but then I thought since it was dusk it wouldn't be and it might make your eye bounce around too much. Its lovely. Lorijo

Thanks Lori. I'm glad you like it as is because since it's already varnished and hanging in the show, there's no going back now! LOL...

Alan, you are so kind. Thank you. I will try to do a marine scene in pastel too. But those sunset skies....I'd never be able to keep my hands out of there. Somebody's going to have to be present to slap my fingers every time I want to use them to blend the pastels. ;)

Chameleon, I hope so too!

Hi Jamie,
You have certainly set the bar pretty high with this as the first post. Spectacular piece, I like the way you have unified the whole work through colour. I hope it does well at the show.

Oh Jamie this is beautiful!
I can feel the last warmth of the sun as it slowly ends the day.
This reminds me of "Cape May" lighthouse in Maine.

Thank you so much for your nice comments, everybody. I actually did this painting for a show that will be in August, so if it sells before next week, I'll have to paint another one! The current show goes only for another week or so. Fingers crossed.....
