A new project has been announced in the WetCanvas! project system!

Title: Selfportait with Wild Hair
Project Leader: Scitzo
Relative Difficulty: Irrelevant
Type Restrictions: Painting
Medium: Watercolor paints
Subject: Portrait
Days open for signups: Always
Maximum participants allowed: Unlimited

Description:

Hi all, a new idea I think.

Let us all make a watercolor of ourselves with a funny haircut, or a haircut you have been dreaming for years.

You must also include a really wild background for your portrait.

Please post any reference pictures that you use.

I found if very nice to do and my haircut was like I had my hair when I was a 17 years old.

Fantasy haircuts are great fun to do, so why not join me?

Harry

Remember, in order to help keep the discussions on projects organized, you should post your questions, suggestions, and comments on submitted work here in this thread. By doing this, we allow other non-project efforts to not get \"pushed down\" by a swarm of project-related threads.

Since my hair is pretty wild anyway, I'll give this a try. At least the project forum is not too large for me to read through!

I'll probably have to wait until Tuesday, or even later in the week, before I start a drawing. This sounds like fun, though.

sorry, didn't get to start this project yet! Not that I forgot it, but first my PC went down for 5 weeks just after I joined this project, then a cracker started hounding me throughout cyberspace... Now I have set up 2 PC's (online, offline), and life is much simpler, but I'm still far behind on various other projects.

Perhaps I'll get started on this project by the end of the week. Wish me luck!

I'll join this. I have never tried a self portrait before, but it sounds like a challenge. It will take me a little while to get started, but I will join as soon as I have a few reference images collected.

this was actually a really fun project. I found myself painting and adjusting longer after i had signed the picture. And I got to use my new travel watercolours so that was kinda cool too. Sorry, no reference photos. i sat in front of the mirror for this one.

Okay, well, today I actually figured out how to "join" the project and publish my finished work. Better late than never I guess. but I was wondering why I wasn't getting credit for the project. :)

I like your entry, very nice. Sorry for not responding so soon, I still have no internet and are replying at an internet cafe. Also I'm not in Holland anymore so thats why it takes a little longer. Hope to have a house soon with my own connection. Like the purple in your painting! Thanks for being the first to actually dared to start!

well, I did think it was rather fun to do. If you host a watercolour postcard project I would certainly join (hint, hint) I saw someone else did one in February and I'm so jealous that I missed out on it.

Thanks! It's not quite anything like looking in the mirror...not even on my worst day...but it was really quite fun to do.

Maybe I could get my son to do one. His hair looks weird every day. He calls it his "genius hairdo". kinda like einstein but curly.

I don't think so

I do think so, why not, and painting yourself bold is also a wild hairdo so come on and don't be a chicken :-) aslong as the background is wild you already got half of the picture ready hiihihihihi. Just a joke, but Angwinsnight, you would be the second to participate...

greetings from Hungary,
Harry
