The cane/stringer used for the petals is two completely cased in clear colors that are then twisted up using 7mm clear rods to get striations. The gather is then repuntied along the striations and pulled into a stringer.

OK...no drooling, drop dead this or that, slack-jawing, OMG's or any other emotional/physical traits that you would not do in public... :D

Since I I hardly ever have time to come by , much less post, I am so happy I did not miss this. I really think it is one of the most beautiful and delicate looking florals I have ever seen. I love it. Ann

Really very cool Mike. I think that is one of my favorite eye marbles of yours I have seen. I think it is the color combo or the intensity of the eye itself, I don't know.

The flower is very pretty. I like the sheerness of the petals.

Great photos too.

Do you mean that reactions I would exhibit in public are welcome? And, are you sure? I have been known to utter some very unusual adjectives in public related to glass. I usually hold back on these forums, though.

Seriously though, that is a fantastic dragon's eye, one of your best, and the flower is great, too.

See, Shirley knows:
why not? hell, i'd do it in public.

Very cool Mike! I think that is my favorite flower so far! Are you planning to list these two marbles on ebay?

Sigh! Some people have all the talent.
Love both, but the petals on the flower are really special. Such a nice soft touch in a hard surface material. Peg M

*twitch*twitch*mouth water*twitch*twitch* I loveeee the blue background on the flower! It really intensifies the yellows and oranges in the FANTABULOUS petals!

Okay....just had to say yum.

Mike I want to know how you got the edges of the flower to look so soft and transparent? I think it looks great but it is puzzleing to me how much detail is in the flower. I really like the background color it makes the flower pop out more. Are the colors moretti?

I can't stop thinking about this one...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3182385548

Mike, what have you done to me... I always thought beads were enough in the glass world for me, that there was so much there all I would need would be beads for the rest of my life.

Now I have two marbles from Mike, and I can't stop thinking about this one in the link above.

Whats next for me? Paperweights? Where does it end..... Help!

I did get the butterfly stringer instructions up in the tech forum; http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=175094 do not forget to vote for Scott's flower marble tutorial because that is the inside out tech you need to even use the butterfly stringer.
