Here is the original one posted in Critiques a while back, I think it helps to have both here side by side.

I think this is a very imaginative piece and is done well. I do get a little lost in it though, I think the bright red at the top draws my eyes there instead of to the neat squares that are grouped inside. Does that make sense???

Yes, I know, but I figured the eye is so busy in the other part of the painting, I had to have something to rest on. Somewhat like a bee or a butterfly, resting before it can handle the maise again.

I remember this one. :) I still love it and I see you added a few more squares, I think though 3,5,or 7 might work better. Never an even number. :D I remember being told that once. I also love the colours of both of them, if I had to choose, I wouldn't be able to.

Thank you for your comments. It is a full sheet of hot press WC paper. It has been quite a challenge for me to work on something this large. Thanks again! Teanne, it has seven square or retangular squares. One of the just isn't as pronounced as the others. If you could see it closer you would be able to tell.

Thank you for all the nice interest in my painting. I cannot tell you how nice it feels to feel like I have accomplished something that is appealing. I cannot tell you exactly what colors I useed for what. I mix all my colors to acheive what I find eye appealing. Layers upon layers of different colors. I try and keep a watercolor look in my paintings with colored pencil. I was a watercolorist before attempting the challenge of CP. I do use prismacolor, watercolor pencils (Stadlier) and polychromos. Basically in that order

I don't think it needed "improvement!" Both of them are just lovely; I'd love to have them on my wall to look at!
BOTH are just beautiful! I would love to have your imagination and skill - I look forward to seeing more of your work:)
