Those of you who have ventured out of the life room and emerged blinking into the sunlight may have spotted that the WetCanvas awards system has been revamped.

In addition to the old style merit badges, there are also new mentor badges.

In order to gain one of these beauties you must fulfill certain criteria such as number of posts, length of membership, etc. But, in addition, you must receive award points from other posters in the forum.

This means that in order for people receive any badges, we must all remember to award points. How is this done? Simply by clicking the merit or mentor button at the bottom of the person's post:

When you have done that, a pop-up window will appear (folks with pop-up killers take note!) asking you to confirm your choice:

Remember, you only get one 'vote' per day throughout the whole of WC! That means that you can either award someone a merit or a mentor point - but not both. You also cannot vote for the same person more than once per 30 days. In order to be eligible to vote, you must also be a regular participant in the forum.

For more information about the awards system, check out the FAQ here:

Happy voting! :D

What do the gold stars signify, and how do you earn them? And what does the little blue check mean, by my posting title? I saw a list of these
things, somewhere, but can't find it now.

Thanks,

Marilyln
