My very dear friend Anna died last night, she was 97 years old. I was going to do this picture of her as a Christmas gift. This morning I sat down and did it for her son. It will be displayed at her wake.
Thank you for looking and if it is your way saying a little prayer for her.

Miss Mouse,

I am very sorry for the loss of your friend. This is a beautiful portrait, she looked like a beautiful, content woman, and what a nice thing you are doing. I am sure her son will absolutely love this, a gift he will treasure for always.

Pam, this is just beautiful and what a lovely tribute to your dear friend. She was doubly blessed having you for a friend.
My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family, and special hugs and prayers for you too. Thank you for sharing this with us, both your lovely drawing and your sadness.

Thank you everyone. It is amazing to me all the things this dear woman saw in her life time. She remembers being a little girl in Germany and running to the road because this strange loud machine came rumbling out of a cloud of dust. What was it all the children hollered. Why it is an automobile Daddy replied - What's an automobile they all clamored back with eyes a glow!

Pam I'm so sorry to hear of your loss.

It is an amazing life that one has lead when they live to be 97 years old. My husbands grandmother passed away a couple of years ago - she was also 97. I loved to hear her talk of growing up in Texas. I think of her often.

I still wish I had done a portrait of her, but I never had the chance. Lucky you, and what a lucky son she has for your gift and the friendship you shared.
