Ok, all you digital artists out there. It is time to dust off your Photoshop skills and sweep away the cobwebs from the far corners of the creative side of your brain. :D

Announcing the 2004 WC! Logo Competition!

In short:

The creator of the winning logo gets their choice of a $100 gift certificate from dickblick.com, Best Buy, or CompUSA.
Logo entries should be submitted to me in email directly.
Logo entries should include a brief "rationale" statement, describing the various elements of the logo, and what they represent.
Logo entries should NOT be posted here on the boards, even for review by others! They should be kept confidential. If a logo is posted here, then it will be disqualified.
All logo entries become the property of WC!, exclusively.
I will personally choose the winning logo design.
All entries should be in layered Photoshop .PSD format, and should be of a sufficient size (8x11 inches), and of a print quality resolution (300 dpi).
Contest begins as of the date of this post, and will end at midnight, on February 28th, 2004.
Each participant can submit multiple logos, or variations on the same logo.

The winning logo design will reflect the diversity of the community here, and will convey the magic of the WC! community to new visitors. In addition, the winning logo designer will be credited in the ABOUT section of the WC! site.

If this first competition is successful, this will be a recurring contest, held yearly, to determine the "face" of WC! for the year to come. :)

Cheers.
Scott

Some clarifications:

Q: Should the logo be for "Artistnation" or "WetCanvas!"

As the proposed name change from WC! to AN will take a considerable amount of time, all submissions should be for "WetCanvas!". Future logo contests will reflect whatever name changes occur.

Q: 8x11 inch 300dpi is a BIG file!

Yes - feel free to submit smaller versions as your entries - just be aware that if you win, we'll want to get ahold of the larger version for use at Cafepress, etc.
