Well, still no paintings. I've got three happening, but they've got a ways to go. And it's cold out there in the studio.
But, I can draw inside! I've been doodlin on this one since before Christmas, and I finally finished it tonight. It's the first of a new drawing series called Aletheia (Greek for 'truth,' literally 'not forgetting.'); but as slow as the drawings are to finish, the series may be in the works for a long, long time.
Anyway, it's about a 22 x 30 arches wc paper.
Hope you're all doing okay!

(the first image is the detail.... got them backwards.)

just what its like
the speed the clarity the immediacey of knowing
that moment when a joke happens
when you remember a word
when the thoughts rearrange everything at the speed of themselves
and being is altered
:)

Well worth not having you to prop me up in Debate:) I love the organic overpowering of rigid myth. Exciting drawings! Can't wait to see the painted interpretation!

Spacial: like a dream; the place you fall inbetween the bed and the floor where gravity doesn't live and that's why you don't wake up when you hit.
Almost like landing on your feet...cept you're asleep...

it's good.

I looked it up.
I found eleutheria , which means liberty. And I also found The Greek word elutheria referred to that virtue by which we rule our material goods so that we can achieve our higher purposes by their proper use. The word is sometimes translated as “generosity” or “liberality.” from http://www.morec.com/schall/2003/liberal_arts.htm
Elutheria is also a town in the Bahamas. :)
And those are our Greek words of the day.

You gotta get into Intaglio printing! I think you'd love it. These drawings/your fine hand lend themselves to it perfectly!
There are all kinds of new non-toxic methods/processes, at home reasonably $attainable table-top presses, materials, products.

Just put the idea in a safe place in the back of your mind behind anthropology and getting that book published :p

Thank-you Guys!
Gosh, Mame, you're not kidding about that list of stuff I've got going on. lol. I try not to look at it too often or I get scared. Somehow stuff just gets done, every once in awhile anyway. :p
Pipi, Sylvie, thanks so much for stopping in a commenting! Much appreciated, much needed.

this is totally sweet. alice in wonderland on acid. very nice. i have a question or observation having seen some of your drawings. it seems to me that your skill set doesnt really shine on your palette knife paintings. some of them have been quite beautiful and all but damn when i see this and compare them.......a brotha doesnt know what to think. i know your trying to loosen up or go all right brain or something. im not saying i know what you should be doing. its just my observation/opinion. i hope you dont want to slap me. :p

Wouldn't surprise me if there's a bird in there, Amy. I've had a real thing for crows lately. Thanks for looking and commenting!
EJ, lol. Yeah, my notebooks looked tattooed, come to think of it. Thanks!
Ronin, that's a fair question. No, I don't want to slap you. lol. My paintings used to be really tight like these drawings. Loads of details, etc. If you look as some of my early posts here, you probably will see what I mean. I had teeny tiny brushes I'd break out. lol. And I still like the details, but now I pretty much confine them to pencil. I like to emphasize pattern and contrast with pencil and texture and mood with paint. And you just can't get too terribly tight with a knife, though I've seen it done. I don't enjoy working like that anymore. I like bigger movements, if that makes sense. But I'm also a gemini, and I need the extremes to keep me sane sometimes.
Thanks for peeking and wondering.
Hope you guys have a great weekend!

The detail looks like an abstract of St Sebastian. The full pic looks like Kersplat!!!
