Wonderful! A terrific portrait of a black and yellow argiope, one of my favorites. You got Mr. Spider nice and sharp with a nicely blurred background. Good work.

It's truly a shame that many people are so frightened of these beautiful creatures.

When I was little we called them writing spiders - for the patterns they make in their webs. We believed that if the spider wrote our name in the web, we would die. I'm sure it's true.

Wow thanks for the info. I must go look and see if a name is in the writing. I too like spiders and will have to capture this fellow and move him as tomorrow I want to BBq.

This photograph and the one called,"Dinners all wrapped up" are very nicely done. I don't like spiders with the exceptions of tarantulas, daddy long legs and cane spiders, but don't mind viewing them in photos. One thing I wonder about though is what the second photo would have looked like back lit.

Wow!
Another great spider shot, got chills on this one too!
I don't mind spiders but got bit by a Brown Recluse last fall and I'm not soon to forget it.

Great shot. I really don't like spiders up close and personal, but photos are OK.
Hey Sassybird, we had a tarantula on our deck this past spring. We looked out to see what the dogs were sniffing at and saw the big black nasty thing crawling up towards the built-in grill on our deck. I stayed in the house while Keith captured him in a bucket to release him in the desert. He also came across a wolf spider when he was releasing the tarantula. Interesting evening. We have also had a black widow in the shed, several scorpions in the garage and a rattlesnake in the dog's pen. I love living in Arizona, but the critters are pretty mean out here!
