I talked to Tony at Iwata and I asked him about the photo grays. They are opaque mixtures of other Com Art pigments and are "fairly" neutral. They come in increments of 10% and stop at 60% (of black). The warm and cool additives are actually transparent and will allow you to lean the grays to the warm or cool side for matching old photos, etc.
For me, I think this is my ticket. I can use the pre-mixed grays [saving time], be using 100% Com Art paint [less chance of mix problems and clogging from adding very opaque whites such as Badger and I can erase my highlights!!!!!], and alter the warm/cool as needed.
I just ordered a kit for $19 from Dixie Art Supply which has the grays, additives and black and white.
Can't wait to start on my second portrait. I'm doing this one on acid-free illustration board (22 x 28). I'll be done with my first portrait this weekend and post a FINAL (heheeh) pic of the results of my nose job (heheheh).
