View Full Version : Semi - Abstract painting
Here is a painting based on the folds of a leaf
Oil on canvas - 48" X 24" - completed 2000
well done. I'd prefer only to see folds and not the small portion of "background at the bottom left. It pulls me out of the folds, and its really nice in there. just my opinion as usual.
Thanks Amyr - point taken - I do agree.

Very very nice well done
I don't know much but I know I love the way you worked your colors in this.
Cheers Bug - the colours are all layered on top of each other - painted with sponges and gloss rollers - buiding up texture - the shapes come from a leaf but are exaggerated to give the feel of flowing movement which sort of conjures up a serene feeling - maybe.

It has a sculptural quality, I love the movement, the tones are very subtle, calm definately organic........I like it, it has the same coloring as my regal lillies, and I could spend hours just looking at them..............
Cheers Swan - sure would like to see your regal lillies.;)

This is beautiful. I really like the sense of movement. I just got a canvas that size last night and have been working on a concept. I'm relatively new to painting and have never done something so big. It is a little daunting. But after seeing this, clearly it can be done.
The colors do give a sense of peacefulness. Just beautiful.
