Hi.

I would like to recommend this thread over at oils, click here (http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=160002) where at the last few posts, shravix from the company "Real Gesso" is putting together some great information on making you own gesso and sizing. The man definitely knows what he's talking about.
In fact, anyone who wants to try out painting on this superb surface should give panels from "Real Gesso" a chance. They are absolutely wonderful to work with.

And no no no... I have no other reason to recommend his product rather than that they are great.

I feel all classical using them! :)

Cheers,

Funny you should mention it. Just yesterday I received 2 sample panels in the mail from them. 1/4" Duron, one is gessoed the other is gessoed linen. I look forward to trying them out.

That is good.....if you feel like that it might make you paint more like it too :)

I've used the real gesso products also for Egg Tempera, saves a lot of time. If I had to mix my own paint and make my own panels, I'd never have time to paint. Although I must admit it is fun to do the basic stuff also! :D
