What kind of glue might I use to glue some works on paper onto a canvas? These works on paper are already collaged themselves so that the paper is a bit wrinkled AND the paper is heavy to begin with (Bristol). Anyone ever tried this?
Thanks!

I've done this. I'm assuming you haven't applied oil paints to the canvas. If you have, my method won't work. If not, then I use Golden Soft Gel (Gloss -- a gloss medium is stronger than matte), applying it with a brush to both the canvas and the back of the paper. After adhering the paper to the canvas, I also brush Golden Soft Gel (either gloss or matte depending on the desired sheen) over the entire piece, extending beyond the paper's edges -- but you may find that an unneccessary precaution. Though I'm very partial to Golden, I'm sure any of the other major brands of acrylic paints would have a similar product that would work well.
Good luck!

Yep, David has the right idea. I would do the same thing.

Great....this was exactly what I was looking for! I have 2 pieces drying now. I didn't glaze the tops and have started to see some buckling so perhaps I should. I will see how they are doing in the morning. I always tell myself that its odd to glue a piece of paper to a canvas....why mess with the surface of the canvas which is 'made' for painting on?? But I love the surface on bristol paper. Besides.....whenever I hear a voice telling me something I 'should' or 'shouldn't' do in my work I usually try and do the opposite....lol!
