Sherl suggested I post this here too. If you'd like to see the progress shots the post is in the animal and wildlife form, same name.

Lovely contrasts on the horse, and such a beautiful reddish brown! What colors have you used for that effect?

Can't wait to see it finished :)

TeAnne Thank you:o I've been admiring your portrats sinse I got on WC they are SO nice!!!

Lulu Wiil do:D I'll tell the story of that one. Most every painting I do has a cool story behind it:D

Ivyleaf Ho boy too may! I keep finding more colours and adding more layers. Here it go's (in polychromos) for the darker areas VanDyke brown, Sepia and dark sepia. In the really dark areas I started with a good layer of Delft blue. In the lighter areas burnt orche, cinnamon, brown orche, a bit of Indian red. and for the more golden areas a little light orche. in the prismas #558 brown and #945 (dosent have a name?)These are both good mid tone browns.

I have to put this away for a few days. My sister asked me to do her soon to be hubbys cat as a gift from her to him. So I have to get going on that. My Sis is great so I just couldent say no

just....amazing:clap:
are you going 2 leave the background fogy ?
it makes the horse "jump" out of the paper.

Twy, such a magnificently rendered horse :) I love the horsey lots. I want to pat him. :) but the background ruins it for me. :( Sorry :( :(
