I painted this as an entry in our local art shop's annual competition.

Its approx A3 in ops.

Sorry not to have been around for a while but I've been very busy plus family commitments....

I love it! (I love seahorses anyway) You did a great job on this - I like the colors you chose - very detailed little horse he is - :D

THis is lovely! THe colors are wonderful...and I like how you have the fine detail at the top and faded him out at the bottom.

Such a moderistic appeal to this little guy..very structured, great colors..I love the hightlights and the fade out, and of course the color choices. Please let us know how you do in the competition...I especially like how you migrated the background into this...great, great job!!! :clap:

Gerry you are too kind!!

A couple of years ago I came 2nd and won a box of pastel pencils :o and last year not even a runner up!! :D

Altho its nice to get a prize I just like to participate... oh and the winners pix get in the shop window for a couple of weeks!!!

Nadine, I cannot believe I missed this one, he's a beauty, love those gorgeous colours, reminds me of my little fantasy dragon statue I have.

Absolutely great colors and those shadows and shapes you've defined on this little guy are wonderful. Sorry you're busy but it hasn't stopped you from producing good artwork.

Nadine, this is so pretty! I love seahorses too. You've been very bold with those colours and the effect is quite magical. The bluey-purple works well against the complementary orange and you've unified it all by bringing the magenta of the background into the seahorse too. Lovely :)

Somehow with OPs I tend to be quite brave with colours.....perhaps cos they're lying there just waiting to be picked up!!! I dooo have a soft spot for seahorses ....and giraffes...perhaps that will be next???
