Well I'm still up so I thought I would start the S&T. I have allowed myself to be on something of a self imposed sabbatical over the past month. The holidays seemed a good time to step away from only producing things with selling in mind and to produce some beads and sets that were less constrained (not to say I am not going to sell them now that they are done, LOL) but I felt much more creative by keeping the thought 'These are for me, and not to sell' in my head.

Thom

These are from a series I have been working on that I am calling Cave Explorations...

QUESTION: How do we get the pics to show up in line as they did before and not just as thumb-nails?

Lovely, Thom. At least the set in the second picture. When I clicked on the first thumbnail I just got a blank screen, then a message that my system was shutting down. Must have been too much beauty for one screen. ;)

Here's my contribution to the S&T. I was too tired to wait for the cavern to smooth out. Argh. Clementine could hide her toys in there.

Okay I'm trying a different way to get the image in-line instead of thumb-nail...

Hmmm.. I'll jump on this one... I did a group shot of the sheep (before some of them went away due to eBay's list and release program) and it cracks me up.... So here y'all are. And welcome back - whew that was rough, sitting in front of the computer for hours clicking "refresh" in vain. :D

hmmmmmmm lets see if that works...this new format for show 'n tell is gonna take some work...I have a slow dial up ...so learning to click the thumbnails is gonna take patience...and I am already low on that from posting on eBay...but I will conquer! and figure it out.

Freezing Rain here...now back to browsing and figuring out.

Hi Everyone,
After some constructive criticism I have began experimenting with my photography and have come up with a new(to me) system for capturing images. What do you guys think of the results.

Good morning everyone. I'm so happy to see that WC is back up and working!

Thom - Very nice. I love the name of the set too!
Jinx - Very cool heart.
Nikki - I dig the sheep herd! They need to set up permanent stable in my home.
Amy - Cool fish.
Kaye - Thud. That's gorgeous!
Briatha - Lovely.
Maureen - Loving your Tweety.
rmg - Nice selection.
Lori - Wow you've been busy. Love everything.
Jill - I really like those muted tones. Very nice.

Attached is a new set I'm trying out. I really like the look of these beads. What do you guys think?

What a wonderful show and tell! Just a couple of quickies....

Faith, love those twists! They are so precisely positioned! I have been admiring your lentils now since you became addicted to them too.
Amy, adorable fishies!
Maureen, nice to see you posting again! Tweetie is a sweetie, and you even captured the cuteness of his oversized feet!
Nikki, you are going to need a cute little pig to round up all those sheep! he he...although I guess they don't stay with you long. :(

(wow, this is so hard when you can't scroll down and see the pictures anymore! I miss the big honking pics! Thumbnails kind of take the wow factor away.)

Trey, great stringer work on that purple set!! It's so rich!
Jillie, can't wait to see more boro goodies from you! Looks like you are off to a yummy start!

I'm sorry because I know I missed a lot of you, but everyone has fantastic beads today! I find something wonderful in each picture, and I love seeing how everyone's personality in glass is so unique, even though we all have the same colors at our disposal.

Here is a little bicone from me. If all goes well, I may venture out into E-bay for the very first time.

Have a great Tuesday everybody! :D

Geeze, just as I thought I was getting used to the last changes in the format, Scott did it again. I think he has this secret mission he's on to make me computer saavy! LOL!!!

Oh the beads are gorgeous today, as always!

I posted this set on Ebay yesterday, since I had nothing better to do. No one even got a chance to see them. They went bye-bye with a Buy Now bid.

Wow guys I guess we know what everyone was doing with WC down....hehe

Some beautiful work here. I agree with many people that I don't care for clicking on the thumbnails. It takes the WOW part out of scrolling and seeing these beautiful creations.

Too many of you have already posted your pics and I'm forgetting who did already, but I did notice that Lori has mastered that CBS in no time. Beautiful Lentils.

Trey's beads and photography stuck out in my mind also. Beautiful pictures and I guess the beautiful beads didn't have anything to do with how flawless they look.

Kaye as always stunning flower. I can see it and feel it right now in my little hand....lol. I don't think there has been a single bead that I haven't enjoyed looking at that you've made.

Very beautiful show n tell everyone.

(I am very unhappy with the thumbnails that must be clicked on....May as well just have a link that says "Bead Photo Here", for all that a thumbnail is worth, in this context of the daily show n tell.)

:( LOVE the work today, that is what I can see of it. I LIVE for my morning strole thru the show and tell, it comes before eating, (after walking my dog son, he just won't listen to how important this all is) I have an older, really slow computer and dial up connection and I cannot even get most of the enlargements to open, plus it is very time consuming to click on each picture and sit and wait for it to maybe open or for the most part NOT. I am hoping this is not how it will be when they get finished. I love this site, and appreciate it so much, so don't get me wrong, I really am greatful that it exists, but the eye candy part of it is really diminished for me right now - and boy, I cannot wait till the spell check comes back. I have a medical reason for not being able to spell, and it has saved me a LOT of embarrasment. Anyway, God Bless you all, and I am SO GLAD YOU ARE ALL BACK. The withdrawl was horrible, although, my house got a lot cleaner, LOL - God Bless - Virginia

Beautiful work everyone. I guess we all made good use of WC's down time - clean houses AND great beads! Here's my latest- I'm on a stacked dots kick right now. I call this Don't Worry, Bead Happy

Plus and Minus. I like the clarity of the pictures and can see the beads better than the old forum, but some pictures take a lot longer to load when you want to see the larger picture. I think it was Lori's that took forever. Some come up fast. I have DSL and still got impatient and gave up on some and moved on before they loaded all the way. Supposedly this way is to save time, but I see a lot of man power being lost by people trying to get the thumbnails up. Seccond thing, I was so happy I had learned to use the uploader and now a new thing which I haven't the faintest idea how to post a picture. Ugh! Peg M

Lara

Thought I would try my hand at loading pictures. I for one don't like the thumbnails. Oh well.

Here are 2 pink sets. The first set sold within one day on eBay with BIN. :D

Both sets are made of bullseye glass on my HH. The second set is with sheet glass and it made these nice swirls. I really like using the stained glass for this swirly look.

I'm so glad WC is back online!! I resorted to browsing ebay for eye candy. I'd much rather look at WC work that I can match with an online personality.
Here are some from the last couple of days....Here's hoping I have actually attached an image!!

Trey: The photos look great. I like how the purple & turquoise set turned out.

Starlie: I love the look! Cool shiny places.

Lara: I love that 2nd set! Who- whee! That set and the first one . . . . you've got some great pinks goin' there!

Lisa: great beads. It's cool how the sun kinda picks out the deep places. They look good together as a composition, too. I like seeing thumbnail versions of things . . . . but I don't like having to load the big version!

Great beads everyone. That is when they finally load. Everytime I try to get a closer look, I have to be really patient. OK, now repeat: change is good, change is good. We'll see.

Hello to everyone. I am new to wc and I have to say you all scare me to death! I have not taken a class yet but I have been using my hh and buying books. The beads I have seen that you all have made are so beautiful! I don't know if I can create beads like the ones I have been looking at but I'm going to try. I am still having trouble making them come out even. I hope to have one that I'm not afraid to show soon, but please be gentle when I do.

Calilily - I hope we don't scare you too bad. I posted some of my first wonky beads in the S&T myself. It's not that intimidating. It's nice to see a newbie evolve from first tries and lessons to what they will become. We all enjoy the progress we see.

If you are getting wonky beads just slow down how fast you are turning the mandrel. That seemed to help me tons. As for progress, well I only started doing beads in June 2003. I feel that WC and this group have helped me evolve to where I am today. I don't think I would be very far without their encouragement and support.

We'll hold your hand all the way through. :)

When you feel ready, please show us what you've made. I don't think there's a person here that would pass at an opportunity to look at beads! ha ha :D

Hello everyone - great beads. I'm very excited to show you some of the beads I made last Sunday. These are from DAY #3 on the minor after using a HH since I started. I was so excited about showing you all, that I did up a S&T picture just for WC - then when I went to post - - well as you all know, WC was down. But here they are now...

Praise and Whine day.

Praise: Your beads are all winners today. Trey your photo skill is impressive. Are you going to tell us how you did it? Please.

Whine away. 1st day of change gives us a license to gripe.

OMG I thought the 2nd page would never open up...20 minutes at least! Now lots of you have been sending huge image files so you may be partly responsible for the change and the thumbprints. By resizing your jpgs to 20 to 45 kb it will be suffficient enough and help us with slow connections a bunch. Please and thank you. :D
