I painted this auto tag a few months ago. I don't care much for painting on metal, but I can't turn down money so I do the tags when the opportunity is there.

This looks great!
How many tags do you get to do?
Here, in Texas, we are required to have plates on both, the front, and the back of our cars! So we don't get to paint tags! If it's OK to ask, what is the going rate on a custom tag?

In Ohio, you have to have a front plate also. However, I live right on the Michigan line, where you don't have to have a front plate. I think I charged $20 for this tag, but I don't remember (and I'm too lazy to go down in the basement to look it up).

kahlua,
What kind of paint are you using? I've tried shooting acrylic on metal and I have never liked it. It's not the metal I don't like, it's the acrylic on the metal.
Did you create a design template for this or just freehand it?
Like Sam, I have no market, I wonder if anyone is selling these on ebay and how well they would sell. Just a thought.

I use Createx paint (textile) on my tags and clear coat it. They seem to hold up quite well. Some tags I free hand and some I use stencils. For the eagle, I used a stencil for the beak and the eyes and then I freehanded the rest. I made most of my sales through my airbrush website (which I didn't re-new last month). I never tried e-bay, I never needed to.

Nice work, I think they got a good deal.... I think here we only have to have the back plate...
