Is this really one of our members? She's breaking at least one ebay rule that I can see?

Plus if she is one of ours, she hasn't mentioned wetcanvas!

I don't recognize this artist either. What rule is she breaking?

12-29-2003, 06:53 PM
She has a link to her website on her auction.

12-29-2003, 07:04 PM
Not me ;)

I just started using the 4WC in my auctions like last night ;)

but thats not my work.. i don't paint.

its nice work though.

12-29-2003, 07:13 PM
I don't recognise any of the works.

I wonder why she has a "no return or refund" policy? That will hinder her selling ability.

12-29-2003, 08:48 PM
Ruth: why would you think that she is a WC member?

12-29-2003, 08:49 PM
'Cause she's using 4WC in her subject line.

12-29-2003, 09:08 PM
ooooops....I missed that...old age you know...

She is trying everything she can to sell her work...not very successfully apparently according to her sellers record.

The million dollar "by it now" is enough to put me off. Someone want to write to her and tell her what 4WC means?

12-29-2003, 09:20 PM
everything is right

10,000 BIN

EAMES in title

Have no clue...she's an "author" also according to the linked webpage....hmm

12-29-2003, 09:26 PM
Well... Everything isn't right. She lists her "off eBay" web site on her auctions. Thats a big no-no in eBay's eyes. Nice pieces though.

Why the discussion about her being 4WC and having a BIN of 10K?

12-29-2003, 11:54 PM
Just someone we don't know :)

It happens sometimes when people see 4WC in a title and they don't know why and they use it, but this person has a good feedback. Might be a WC member, but doesn't have the line in her description about "search for 4WC etc" in which case she shouldn't use it in her title.

And in that picture the $1,000,000.00 amuses me. Hey, maybe she will get lucky :)

12-29-2003, 11:58 PM
Well, with 1,000,000 int he buy it now, it shows up on the top of the main searches for self rep artists. Once someone bids the lowest amount, it goes away. It a good technique to get hit on the counter but not too good for artists looking at others.

I know most people know this and its been discussed alot but I just found out about it!!

I dont' recognize this person, but I did send an email from the auction explaining that if she is a WC member, she should be adding a line of text in the description.

Also gave a warning about the link. Maybe she will join us here!

I don't think she has been selling art for long. A lot of her feeback is not related to art and she has also bought quite a bit.
She probably does not know what 4WC means and she is using it because she sees others using it.
Let's see what she will respond to Carly....give her the benefit of the doubt.

LOL Carly, I did the same. I sent her an email letting her know what 4WC means and asked her to come join us. :D

Since I'm pretty new here and trying to 'hustle' my work on Ebay I would live to know what 4WC means. I need all the help I can get...ha!

Thanks in advance!

4WC means 4 Wet Canvas. We use it in our titles so our customers can find us and other Wet Canvas artists.

I know she is not a Water Color artist.
But, A long time ago before I became an active member on Wet Canvas. I use to do searches on E-Bay for water color paintings.
I found many many with the WC in the title. This is before it was changed to 4WC. I really thought this was short for Water Color LOL. Silly huh?
But, then I learned what it meant for real.

I guess she is on the right track of learning too.

Linda is new to WC! Here's her reply to me....

thank you, thank you, thank you for taking the time to let me know about these two things. I just joined 4WC a couple of days ago and I have so much to learn. I thought I was supposed to put a logo from 4WC in my auction, or on my About Me page but I could not figure out how to do that.

And, I have probably put a link to one of my web sites on my auctions a zillion times, not knowing it was not permitted....anyway, after reading your note, I have been a busy little beaver, changing all my auctions but could not change the one that is coming down tomorrow - too close to close to do that...

I REALLY really appreciate you letting me know about these things. I have begun to look at the 4WC site - overwhelming!!! I have already learned sooooo much in just one evening and look forward to learning a lot more and meeting people there, too. THANKS, again!

Great! A new member! :D

My reason for asking was that I'd hate to have seen her reported for having the direct website link in her auction, even more so if she was one of our members! I thought she might have been a lurker here and could have responded. :)

Hope she joins in here too!

So its cool for me to mention WC in my title line and display a WC icon in my auctions??!

12-31-2003, 11:25 AM
Any WetCanvas member can use 4wc and the icon. If you check the Sticky section at the top of this forum, there's a thread with different icons you can select and text.
