View Full Version : Monday 12/29/03 S&T

12-29-2003, 02:41 AM
What, no over zealous person has started a S&T Thread for Monday yet...
Well, here it goes, I will start my first.

Yet another incarnation of my Rainbow Sparklers - yet more they decided to be more pastel this time.

And the following techniques are courtesy of Doug R's new DVD...how many ways can I thank him for my first ever instruction - heck his DVD is the first time I have ever seen another person make a bead in real life - not just pictures! THANKS DOUG! A few more DVD's by you and I just may become pretty dangerous!

Rebecca, those are yummylicious!

Shari, it's good to see you posting again. Your beads look good enough to eat!

Ok, can you all tell that it's almost midnight, and I'm up because I've got a craving for fudge and can't sleep? Well, I got a piece of fudge now, and just thought I'd cruise through WC to see what's going on.

Here a couple of sets I did this weekend:

Here is a set I finished two days ago....I don't know what it is but I really like this set. I had fun just mixing colors together. The first one turned out so nice that I had to keep going. I used the Target ice tongs.....really need to save money for the CBS....hence they are now on Ebay. So without further chit chat......

12-29-2003, 10:25 AM
Holy Smokes, what a beautiful Monday morning s&t.

I could just stare at that boro all day, although I don't think my boss would like that.

Shari, what fun shapes and variety

Alex, you have mastered lentils, I played this weekend with my CBS and had a hard time getting uniform shapes.

Jillie, pretty in pink!

Sandree, I'm so jealous of that sculptural, if its not uniform I can't do it and that pixie dust set is gorgeous!

Here's a focal I made yesterday:

I have had to run in and out of WC over the holiday just to see what everyone was doing - my daughter was always - lets go - lets go so didnt have much time to comment

Well I'm back and I'm going to try and work tonight on beads. Big time withdrawl

Where to start - everything is wonderful - Can I hate Boro people for doing such amazing work - really envious -

Then I would have to hate AlexM for her amazing lentils that I look at and look at over and over again. Wondering if I ever get to bead again if my lentils could be half that nice. And then theres Beadgrrl - wow some wonderful lentil combos.

Of course I could not have a date of envy without Anne and her pliads - I sort of like the etched heart- not sure but I do like the un-etched heart and of course your fab beads.

Sandy- wonderful use of pixie dust - love that black stringer effect
RobinA - Really nice set - love the floral parts
Shari - I know what day your thinking of !

Hoping I beat other people in before they post but if not I love everyone's beads today -

12-29-2003, 11:34 AM

Yes, I am still bowling, but the PWBA took a turn into the same chasm as womens' soccer....for the moment. Looks like 2 options:tournaments (8) starting in August/Sept, or no tour in 2004...maybe 2005. So I now have lotsatime on my hands!LOL!

I started this week out with all focals. I can't pick a favorite to post, so this is it.

Jaw dropping gorgeous beads today!!! Lentils, boro (great job Jill for firsties!), pixie dust, Anne's beautiful florals, Carla's wonderful eye peeking at me and frit! Yowser! And after seeing Creg's marbles! What a great way to start the week!

I am going to make a prediction for 2004! I may be going way out on a limb here but I would dare to say there are going to be a lot more luscious lentils being offered on ebay. Ya think!!!!!

I couldn't stand it anymore. I've been drooling over all the littlecrow bears for so long I finally had to go out to the torch (with a beanie baby in front of me for inspiration) and make some bear heads to pacify myself (at least until I can replenish my PayPal account).

I give you.....Ameribears

Awwwwww, shucks, Susanutski........thanks. I needed that today. *smoooooooch*

12-30-2003, 02:27 AM
Lori - I love those bears too! If you want, you might etch them... don't etch the black or the ivory, just the transparent.... I think they'd look gorgeous! :)

Good idea, Emma. Maybe I will try it with just one first. I pretty much suck with the etching solution. I've ruined many a bead with that stuff. (apparently, half a day is too long to leave the bead in....... )

........I suffer from braineous vacuuous (in case you were wondering why I would leave beads in etching solution for more than 5 minutes)

12-30-2003, 06:54 PM
Rebbeca, looks like you got the dougie pink thing down! I got my cd also and his information has had a huge impact on my recent beads As follows

WOW!!! Rebecca those Rebecca Rainbows rock!!! If I were handing out grades for best student you'd get an A++. Simply incredible. I guess all the right info is in the video. Thanks for sharing.

P.S. Hey if you can do that well from a video, imagine what you could absorb by taking some classes.

Amoret your beads look marvelous too. I see your ebay public is enjoying them also. Congrats!

It's just fantastic to see all the new and beautiful boro beads being created!!
