Sometimes prices rise at the beginning of the New Year.

Do any seasoned ebayers think that the price of fp's will go up?

IMHO, the price of fp's is outrageously high as it is.

They are outragously high, 10 times the amount of a normal auction depending on starting price and a few other things. I certainly hope that the price doesn't go up.

@ $19.95 USD, it should be gold plated. :D

Now I am curious about how long the price of fp's has been $19.95.

What I meant was:

I am curious about the history of the fees for fp auctions.

For example, has the cost of fp's been $19.95 for the past 7 years, 5 years or 3 years, etc.?

I guess that a very seasoned ebayer would know the answer to this question.

:D

And if I don't find out the answer to this question, it will not be the end of the world.
;)

Well, if fp was any cheaper, a lot more people would opt for it and then the advantage it provides would be gone I guess. You have to pay for your prime location!

Um, I think Te has been eating too much turkey.....:D :D

I think we could be paying less for our prime location.

The cost of FP has been the same since I started. I don't feel is too expensive. If it was cheaper everyone would use it thus decreasing its value further. I used to get 600 hits average on an fp listing, now I am lucky if I get 300.
Ebay knows very well that a higher priced FP will mean less people using it so I don't think the price will go up.

I am really glad to hear from you, Rita, about this issue!

I think that if the cost of an fp were $15.95, that it's value wouldn't be decreased.

Just my 2 cents.

Why do you say this?

Oh, yes...I would be happy to see FP cost at $15.95.....but is not gonna happen. I also think that is not going to increase because ebay knows that it will loose a lot of revenue (people not able to afford it) and maybe a lot of sellers.
Fp value has been decresed over the years and will probably continue to do so as more sellers are forced to use it in order to increase vilibility.
Ad banners are a good alternative, but again, the more people use them the less efficacious they will become.
The best thing for us sellers would be if ebay had some competition from other auction sites.
