I guess we do need to post seperate threads to keep the posts from being too clogged up with images. Anyway, I'm taking this slow, painted a little last night and a little today. 16x20 thanks for looking, Sandy

Looks like you are establishing your contrasts early, Mal! Good....

Many fear the contrasts necessary to pull off the illusion of realism, prefering to sneak up on it slowly...but in essence never really doing it at all.

This will be interesting to see progress!

Nice laying in of your initial colors.
I usually go slow with a painting as well due to wife, kids, work, cats, house, cars, etc., etc.!
