this is so outrageous.
not just that you painted it, but that you fostered or engineered it.
just water & or beer & or pop in a fridge.
focus on liquid relief.
wow, ok did you just decided to open the fridge door and paint?
what do you think, what do see when you are painting.
I love it

wq = working quarters?
Looks like a place you might come to often... A painting that bursts into our lives quietly... starting with rectangle of light... Entire work seems a study in rectangles (save the bottles...) Vertical from top right to horizontal planes below, to diagonal from lower left toward light again... The subject is simple, but the canvas is packed full... How do you do that??? Beautifully...

Someone did ask to see the inside of D's fridge I believe.
There's a shape repetition that is so satisfying in this; the water bottles, the U's in the door, all the rectangles. As usual, the palette is rich. I particularly relish your presentation of light, the glow and how it's captured in the most simple, brilliant manner.

Chiaroscuro rendered with limited palette makes me want to go to Shop Rite!

could be a beer fridge
could be night time
this is a better painting
than most i've seen
i see so many of your paintings
in spite of that
it's really hard to fall into
the mental habit of hohumming
another good painting
this one stopped me dead in
after coming back to it many times
without knowing what to say
now i can say it is
a perfect painting
big words i know but true
it captures for me BOTH the feeling
and the image
of the fridge door open
in the middle of the night
with the light of cold fridge
warming up the night

*Laugh* all right! I knew you could do something wonderful out of mundanity... I just returned from the wilds of Minnesota and missed the first posting of this painting. Wonderful! It would be rather interesting to see something from the viewpoint of a bird....like the patio umbrella. *SMILE*

The message I see in your work:
Look around, everything is beautiful. Don't ignore the little things which hide in the daily familiarity of life. Gaze upon them with new eyes and you will see the beauty. Do not take for granted the things that surround you. Beauty's voice calling to you can be more subtle than a whisper on the wind, but it is there, and it should never be overlooked.
