Sooooo... In case I haven't mentioned it yet, I'm still learning this camera... BUT since I know I haven't mentioned it yet today - I think I love Mr. Booger for showing me how to keep making things better and better. (Shhhh... don't tell the Ms.!!)
So here's what I've got...
My very very best hollow ever with matching spacers...
http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/19-Dec-2003/27058-blhollow.JPG
And one that I keep thinking "SPUTNIK!" when I see it. I used some leftover stringer bits to make it and wow - turned out pretty interesting.

Ok, if you're reading this... TAG! Whatcha got to show? (Psssst - Jim - I wanna see how that one turned out - ya know that one from last night?)
Cheers!

OOOhhh...i got in early...don't you just love when hollows come out good, i can never seem to do that, mine always end up monsterously large and the only good one i have had lately is 2" in diameter and so big I have no clue what to do with it?
anyway, first we have some awesome amber purples
http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/19-Dec-2003/11383-12-03-0620-1.jpg
second, some neat metallics - just the boro no fancy smancy reduction frits (yet)
http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/19-Dec-2003/11383-12-03-0618-1.jpg
and finally, some sparkley, milky greens with hazy purplely blue highlights that you unfortunately can't see in the pic...

Nice work everyone!
Rebecca, those metallic ones are just gorgeous!!

This bead was a hollow gone wrong, so I squared it a bit and added the loops for dangles, and now I just love it. It's going into a necklace for my sister for christmas.

Nikki - nice hollow!
Rebecca - amber purple's my favorite color :)
Lori - congrats! those kidlets are the cutest things ever! :)
Kaye - I like the rainbow swirls in the second one!
Jennifer - good save! :)

These guys are way more metallic-looking in person, really. Iris gold frit over various bases; my favorites are the opalinos.

Good morning everyone. I sure miss posting in the show and tell.

Nikki - Love the hollow. It came out very nice.
Rebecca - Those are to die for. I love the metallic ones!
Lori - Those kids are so cute. I love the dimples.
Kaye - Those are gorgeous!
Jennifer - I always look forward to seeing your work.
Diva - Those look great. I love iris gold frit myself.
Trey - Very nice rubino. I can't get mine to look like that yet.

Well I'm sure you'll recognize these little guys from AMRGlassworks. She gave me a lesson one day on how to make them and these are my first attempts. I'm making a couple of black little girls for my best friends girls (my nieces). I wish I could find a lighter shade of brown, but this will do for now.

OMG! What great beads today!

Nikki, great holllow and cone bead, I agree with Kaye, great stringer control!

Rebecca, your boro is always so beautiful!

Lori! Those kidlets are adorable!

Kaye, I am entranced by the second bicone, I just love the way you put the blue, green and brown together!

Diva, great job with the frit, LOVE the second to the last one.

Trey, looking good with the Rubino, to get the greenish highlights, put the rubino on thinly, don't use big globs of it.

Saucy, those are awesome for your first attempts. Try the light brown, if you have it, it's way lighter.

Here's some boro:

Oh NO there is no fibbing involved, I don't work with the rubys much because they do not fire out evenly for me. It looks like they worked for you, and the second set I have no idea what color that is and I usally can figure it out. What ever it is they are beautiful!!!!

Lovely beadies everyone. I'm stuck on a frit kick still. The latest thing I'm loving is iris gold over light ivory with intense black.

Kristan,

Why thank you then! I had no idea that others have problems with the ruby colors because they've been very well behaved for me. Frankly, I thought that I would have much more trouble with boro, but it's been a meek little lamb so far.

The funny thing is that I have no idea what these colors are either for the most part because I only got a few rods at Sundance the last time I was there. Most of my boro stash are shorts that I bought for $20 per pound to save on money while I learn to tame the boro beast. All of the frit that I have used in the last 3 weeks came from a blue rod that I crushed up, thinking I would get blue frit, , yeah, right! I have had this color turn blue, green, gold, khaki, and red depending on the angle of the sun, the phase of the moon, my mood and whether I hold my breath or not when I put the frit on the bead. I sure wish I knew what it was! I just love this frit and sadly, used up the last of it on the weekend, so unless I figure out which of the NS colors it is, I'll never be able to duplicate the colors I have been able to achieve. But of course, this is the infuriating, challenging and wonderful thing about boro that hooks all of those who try it isn't it? :cat:

Alex, I must have picked up your fortune cookie at lunch. It said, "I foresee good frit on your horizon. Keep an eye on your mailbox."

Piggy time for me! I got to the torch for the first time in 2 weeks. Here is an attempt on a hollow that went wonky. Since I just read 'Spotlight on Hollows' I figured I'd try a fish, it couldn't get worse right?
http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/19-Dec-2003/29660-bluefish2.jpg

The next sets are ones for the ladies at work. Some special things to take note of. First, they aren't done. They will be bracelets (and the red/black will be a necklace). But since this is the busy time at work, and I was finishing semester stuff, they had to give them back right after opening them this morning. They weren't happy about it! My boss made me leave hers there so she can fondle it until I finish the others, lol! Second, look at the cone and the cylinders. These sets are the FIRST TIME I've ever had them come out well. The edges aren't perfectly shaped, but they are puckered, and they ended up looking like the correct shape, which is new for me!

Accckkkk...my life and my DH's lfe continues on it's downward slide. He is getting 2 units of blood today. Making beads is about the only thing that keeps me sane these days....I grab little bits of time here and there. Thanks for your eye candy....looking at beads makes me feel a little better !
