Just curious! what is workable fixative and what is it used for.:cool:

Hi there,
I'm afraid I don't use it - but when I had a teacher once who recommended it - it's to spray your piece to either prevent dust from coming off as much before it's framed and/or to work on top of if there is something you want to add to the piece. I'll defer to the other experts on this forum to explain better.

Barb (mostly it makes the piece smell bad and darkens the colors in my opinion)

workable fixative means that you can still erase but will hold what you have in place and not smear...usually used for graphite, but will work between layers to give more tooth on soft pastel...but spray lightly in a couple coats, and it will darken some...
