Alex, I love your "moody blues".
Here is a set of fizzies I just got out of the kiln. "Boro bubbles?" I just posted the explanation over in the technical forum.
12-18-2003, 06:15 AM
Don, they're *gorgeous* - bet they're fabulous out in the sunlight :> oooh how I love bubbly beads! ^_^
12-18-2003, 06:55 AM
Alex, I lurve the blue ones.... they look so etheral and misty!!!!!!
Don, those fizzies look so unusual and out of the box, I like them!!!!!
Jenna... it's so funny isn't it being so ahead of the times with most of these guys (yet Australia is so behind the times when it comes to lampworking ... funny that!)
Anyway..... I made my first marble today with my new Dan Grumbling mold.... already hooked... I just twisted one half, not the other... and I dodn't have holders thinking I would get away with pliers or tweezers but no... so it still had a rude little nubbly....
and my latest take on leaves... pardon lousy pic but these are so scrummy in real life... and I like to think a new angle????
all my beads lately are bullseye cos I put away the moretti to expand myself a bit
(Val --- I did manage to put copper green moretti on the frit-encased bullseye bead -- as the frit will go with both I used it as a sandwhich and feel like a GENIUS. LOL (very small quantity of course!!!!! I miss the reactivity of moretti when I play with BE)
and finally, I just love this bicone... dunno why it just is MINE. Not annealed yet so I suspect the ruby frit will really bloom and change the look totally....
12-18-2003, 07:54 AM
Alex - Both sets are fabulous. But right now the Moody Blues fits my life just perfectly.
Don - very interesting boro bubbles. :)
Donni - your leaves are very cute, and great job on your first marble.
This is what I did last night:
triangles, a floral, and two hollow hearts with some enamels on them. The red/clear one has cracked *sigh*
Hugs from Holland,

I am too tired to talk. I hate the 7am bus even though I am not the one who has to be on it. But here are mine.
12-18-2003, 08:19 AM
What a bunch of purties!!!
Alex my fav is the pink set!! both are pretty!!
Don those are really cool!!! Very calm looking!
Donni great marble!! Your other work is very pretty also!!
Sarah, *sigh* I still can't get a flower to look like that and your hearts are so cute!!! Great beads!!
Here is what I did yesterday :D Don't have a clue what the thing is or what to name it! A little mermaid with goldstone running thru her lower half. More brights again!! :D
12-18-2003, 08:24 AM

My Contribution for the day
Silvered ivory scroll work
12-18-2003, 08:54 AM
Carla... gorgeous colours -- does that set have palladium in it to reflect those colours/tones?? Fabulous!!!!!! (And I am not looking hard for superlatives here, I REALLY like this set it looks very precious!!!!!)
Jacinthe -- that flower is almost photographic, (very nice bead there!!!!!) and the hearts are so neat.... like the red one myself :)
Anne, your work is so YOU... you don't need a signature because of your use of colour and a combination I think, you patterns and combinations of colours... immediately recognised at AMR. Oh, I must comment... the bead you call the thing looks like it should be named ...The Thing
Love this thread -- too tired to torch and WC! seems the perfect browsing site (as well as Dan Fritts! marble mania has hit me with a vengeance!!!!!)
Edited - you snuck in on me there TREY! That set really is startling. You did something else with petroleum green recently, didn't you? Anyway that is really strong colour combo - design thing you have happening there, very nice!
12-18-2003, 08:57 AM
LOL!! Well the Thing it will be!! Thanks Donni!! :D
12-18-2003, 08:58 AM
Wow! Wish I had time to comment on everyone's work. 5 more minutes and time to get the boy up for school.
Everything is especially wonderful this morning! What a great way to wake up! Thank you all for posting, can't wait to see what you do next.

That is the silver I either got from the bulk buy a gazillion years ago or from Franz. It isn't the super thick stuff either. It has been doing different things for me lately that it usually does. Iam starting to wonder if I still have a handle on the old stuff though. I figure as long as it is still neat I am going with it. These river rocks are my new favorite things to do. Well until I run out of silver anyway.

Here's some new stuff...please don't mind the thread hogging, I have been busy.
OOH! And I just found out I am getting Corina's Bead Stamp for Christmas from my dear MIL.....how excited am I???? I am practically bursting....look for more after I get it...WHEEEEEE!!!!!

Beautiful work as always, everyone. Here's my contribution for the day.
Sorry about the dark picture.
Thanks for posting show and tell threads. They are a highlight of my morning!
Alex, lovely colors! I really like your pinks lately!
Don, I saw your fizzies over in the tech forum. Nice way to make it your own!
Donni, yep...never saw leaves quite like those before.
Sarah, great job on the hearts. Nice shape. The pink enamels is my fave.
Anne, those bumpy dots beads are some of the best I have seen!
Trey, love the elongated look of your scrolls! Is that petroleum green?
Amber, great sets! Top one is my favorite!
Misty!! Love that color combo...sky blue, right? I really like the melted in rows of dots. Good control!
12-18-2003, 03:21 PM
Great work everyone!
Don, thanks for showing the boro fizzies, didn't know that could be done in boro
Donni, that marble looks great!
Sarah, your florals are looking yummy!
Anne, I love your signature brights!
Carla, the eye beads you've been posting lately are terrific!
Amber, the glittery set is gorgeous!
Misty, nice set, wish I had your dot control, but that's probably why I stick to organics now. :D
12-18-2003, 03:38 PM
great beads and I really love that marble still have not figured that one out yet.
Well this it my first post . Still learning how to use my camera but I made this bead the other day and thought I'd see if I could post a pic and get my feet wet.
12-18-2003, 04:13 PM
Welcome to WC!
I like the bead you posted. Great use of color, silver, frit and is that dichroic peeking out?
12-18-2003, 04:53 PM
Hi John and welcome to WC. Love the eye candy!
I love everyone's work. I've been doing a little here and there, but I'm still working 12 hour days and I've been tired when I get home.
12-18-2003, 05:10 PM
Hello, what beautiful work you guys posted today.......All I can offer is what will be a little comic relief. It was supposed to be a portrait of my Fighting fish, but doesn't it look that rocket ship in that really old sci-fy show!!! Well, I am not going to quit trying, at least I love it, it's mother should love it you know - God Bless everyone - Virginia L.
12-18-2003, 06:08 PM
Yes it is a bit of dichro in that bead still a bit scared of that stuff though.
And Alex I was bummed that we did not get a chance to share the booth at the babe show.
I was at least hopping to meet you there but I was there on Sunday and herd you went on Saturday, John
12-18-2003, 06:12 PM
John! You're THAT John! :D
Yup, it was a bummer that we couldn't do the BABE show together. I called and called and sent them emails, but for some strange reason they would just not return my emails and phone messages. They must have heard about me!~ (Just kidding!)
We'll have to plan on it next year.
12-18-2003, 07:58 PM
So many lovely beads!
Here's my contribution for the day, it was a custom order I've been working on for days.....
12-18-2003, 10:16 PM
Wow, fire imp, I am trying so hard to do those encased flowers, but am getting nowhere, note the complete lack of floralness in my attempt I put below. awwwwwww, yours are absolutely beautiful - Hope I can get there someday, I was told doing a thousand of them will do it. I don't think I can do a thousand of these if they keep looking like this. God Bless - Virginia L

12-19-2003, 07:38 PM
Thank you! :) Lots of practice!
So, is the L. for your middle name or last? My middle name is Lynn..that's why I asked.
12-19-2003, 09:20 PM

My nurse just bought thoes beads, I guess if you don't know they are supposed to be flowers they are pretty. she bought that set and a white set, the first I ever made. I posted it below. It is really exciting to sell my beads. I sure hope they look like flowers someday - God Bless - Virginia L. PS:, no the black and yellow and white set has no flowers, I am not THAT bad!!! LOL
