View Full Version : Something Spiritual?
Here is a watercolor I did a ew months ago. I tried to show a spiritual city, rising from the early base up to the heavenly crown. Not sure is the symmetry works here, though.

Hi and welcome to the forum ! I too like the colors here. Somehow the spirituality escapes me, although I can almost detect angel shapes in those clouds. The way you have placed the greens in 3 different levels makes me feel like this rising city is "making the grade" in three stages. Am I close or way out in left field? http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif Carol

Hi Uvi, Even though I do not see the spirituality here, I like this painting very much. The formal composition doesn't make this dull at all. The colors are so pleasing to the eye. Welcome to WetCanvas! We would love to see more of your work. Sandy
Carol, this watercolor is an invitation for an imaginative journey—a flight if you will, to the clouds; so your interpretation is appreciated! I never thought of the three grades but it I can see it now.
The Hebrew lettering says "Jerusalem of Above".

Um since I can read the Hebrew, (although I had to ask my son for the translation...LOL) I caught the meaning. I would like to see a little more contrast between the clouds and the mountain. They are reading too close together and fighting one another.
Can you give us the meaning of the Hebrew lettering that appears on your painting--the translation I mean.
You asked about the symmetry--It is very centered, but I would imagine that appealed to you for this piece because it conveys a sense of reliability, trust, solid faith, etc.
I see several angels in the sky, and also see many strong angels holding up and lifting up the earthly base.
