View Full Version : Fijian Woman

I hope this works... it's my first time uploading an image.

This is mainly pastels, but I also used watercolors and CP on bark paper. It's done from a sketch that I made on a trip to Fiji, where I also bought this wonderful paper.

I hope everyone likes your blue background, they didn't like mine on my last painting. :(
The spaces are a problem on here, (can't tell you what to put in but should have something to bring out your subject)
I'm not a pro...but more value and depth is needed. hope this helps. :D

Thanks for your comments Ohju.

I see what you mean about the values, I have to say that there's a little more contrast in the original, but I'm gonna work on that.
I don't quite get the other comment, though... what I wanted to do is exactly focus on the woman by having her stand against the clear blue sky:confused:

Hi Carolina
After reading all the work that went into this on the alternative medium fourm I can look at it with an added appreciation.
Very nice piece.
I love the effect of the wrinkles.

Oh! Welcome To WetCanvas :)
