Kaye, your bracelet is absolutely beautiful. As is all of your work.

I've been playing with silver also. Pulled these out this morning and made a necklace. Some of these beads have a robin egg blue around the rubino that I can't figure out how I got. This whole necklace happened just because I was trying to get that effect. Anyone know?

These are various rubino and copper ruby/various blues over transparent cobalt.

You guys always show such beautiful pieces, and this thread is no exception. I've enjoyed especially necklaces since I seldom make those for some reason.

This one, however, I did make as a gift for my mom for the holidays. She's an 'autumn' and loves the colors of that season. Hopefully she will like this one.

Thanks as always to all for sharing. The WC! eye candy is just outstanding.

This bead was RAGK from Emily from New Zealand. A little different use of a bead!
When I moved into my house there was this ulgy string on the window, which I promply removed. I found out that night it was there to hold the window in when opened!! ( Old house). So here is my version of a window string. It really highlights Emily's bead.

And a letter opener. The letter opener bead hole is huge, the hole had to be 1/4", and I had alot of beads that ended up in the aquarium! I finally settled on one long bead when you can put 4 on as I was getting frustrated with ones I didn't like!

OOOHHH YEAHHH! That is right up my alley. When I was little my grandmother bought me a pencil sharpener like that. We mounted it to the door facing inside the pantry and it is still there at my mom's house. I will be over there tomorrow and will be taking back MY pencil sharpener. LOL

I usually do all this coiling by hand, but my fingers aren't what they used to be and I pay for it for days. This will save me much discomfort. Thank you!!

Sorry, guys. That was a VERY hurried picture of my coiler as I was getting ready to rush out the door. Yes, you coil the wire around the mandrel to the right of the picture ( and of course the size of the mandrel can be changed depending on how small of a coil you want) while turning the handle. Nice TIGHT, EVEN coils. Like these!!

ooh, these are all so good! :> Love all those wire coil bracelets, I need to learn that :> thanks for sharing all the eye candy!

here's one of my first attempts at guys' jewellery - this is for my brother for christmas. I've had the beads around for a couple of weeks - I wanted to keep them!

Then my mum told me that he'd lost his other necklace (a few of my very first beads strung with seed beads, camouflage colours - he saw it in my display in Mum's shop and wanted it!) so I had to make him a new one... here is the result. Bad photo though!

I had a couple come around the other night - the girl wanted to buy some beads from my non-lampwork stash - and the guy absolutely fell in love with this and pushed his girlfriend to buy all the beads to make himself one - yes he even bought some lampwork lol.

Kaye,

I'd love a look into your Jewelry Box! You always show such wonderful pieces that you've made. Everything is always so gorgeous.

It's strange because I love beads but I only wear a few pieces every so often. Mainly I wear platinum or white gold. And every so often, the occasional piece of gold or pearls. But you know, I think I'd wear more beaded items if I had a jewelry box like yours filled with so many lovelies! :D

Thanks for sharing.

Sheila, that is beaded wire from Rio Grande. It already has a pattern on it. I also use the square wire...it gives a very smooth, contemporary look...you just have to make sure the wire coils on flat (not with the corners sticking up). You can also twist two wires together and then coil them. I think this gives a more antique look.

The base of the bracelet is an 18 gauge wire that is formed into the hook on one end, then the beads and coils are threaded on and then the other end of the thick wire is made into a loop to complete the clasp. You can use heavier wire but my hands don't work well with anything heavier than 18 gauge.

Thanks Sandee, I just found out RIO Grande no longer has an on-line catalog and they are now charging $10.00 for a printed catalog. I'll have to go through last years to see if wire was there, as I found most of their stuff was to expensive to warrant spending that kind of money for a catalog.

It wasn't the price that turned me off, it was the principle. I find it extremely irritating to pay for a catalog. Do they want to sell their stuff or not??

I like to shop online and the only exception to that is Frantz...I like to call them.

Moth,
~I agree, but I do love Shipwreck Beads and have no problem paying for their catalog as I know I will buy enough beads to get my money back. I have paid for so many catalogs only to find prices to high or I can't find enough stuff I like to justify an order just to get my money back, as most give you a refund with their first order of a certain amount. I called Rio and was told there was a price for each catalog, and then today found an ad in Lapidary Journal for a free Rio catalog. So I called back and got a free catalog by mentioning I had seen the ad.
