I think it is a wonderful rendering.....but I don't really like the pose therefore I am not thrilled with the painting. As a jazz buff I have a great appreciation of his work...but your painting to me looks disrespect full.
I admire pontillism ....and working with that small a pen and for that length of time wins an award.....but if it was mine I would have looked for a information source that had more appeal.
I am sure you will consider these comments inappropriate, but they are this guy's opinion.
So I give you a five      award for technique and dillagence and-----
a :crying: for the painting.

I don't know how much use simple praise is for an artist, so I normally shy away from it. But these are absolutely amazing. I don't know much about your medium. It doesn't seem very forgiving. Is it?
I'd like to see one of your works in progress.

I can't even begin to tell you how impressive this is. The time and patience you must possess is beyond my scope of imagination. Having lived in Seattle I know the cool rainy days are good for productive measures - this is no exception - 100 hours worth. You must be thrilled, satisfied and exhaulting this piece. congratulations!!!
Barb I would like to know the size and paper you used.
