12-10-2003, 08:42 AM
We all must be way too busy! Another day when S&T hasn't started yet!! So I thought I'd start and show a set I made a couple of days ago before my life got so crazy busy. Another nice set to wear with jeans - they're on JB at the moment....

Have a great beading day!!

I'm trying something new--pins. Here's a nice denim-y one:

Pretty Blue beads!

Here's one i have up on the bay but I think I'm redoing the pic. It's part organic, part "elfinware" moss.

Nancy those blue beads rock.

Jean nice work.

Mardi the bead looks great. The background in the photo is to dark. But I think you will move this bead quickly.

Great pin!

Love the mish mash. Very casual cool!

Here is my bounty from yesterday. I had a half rod of the old copper green and used it all but an inch for these beads. I will pull the rest of it out in stringer not to waste a drop. LOL

The ones on the right I posted in yesterday's show and tell, but they were on the stringer already, so here they are again. LOL They are from Lori Robbin's faux malachite tutorial with a twist.

There is also my first vessel made off the end of the mandrel. Blew out the side once, but fixed it up pretty good I think. I need to work on the handle aspect. LOL

This bead is wonky, but I mainly just wanted to see what the colors would do together and they don't contrast as much as I had hoped, but I did find out something interesting. I made a rubino white heart. Put dots of white, melted in, then dots of dark amethyst. When I melted them in, they haloed each other to make it look like double stacked dots. I had never seen that distortion mentioned anywhere before, so thought I would mention it to those of you who could actually do something creative with it and have it work for you.

That's it for me today!

For the first time in a month I am caught up on orders....well at least those that are paid for. :D Kind of glad it all slowed down in time for me to get strep throat. Ick! Day five of fever and general ickiness with sores on my tongue. It hurts to eat and talk. whine, whine, whine. I'm done now. Here's a focal I made awhile back, but just recently added the accent beads. I like this set.

I've also have some opal yellow beads here that have some purple hues in them. They are really wild. They still need to be photographed. I'll post them later when I get to it.

Hi everyone. Great beads. I like the pin...I couldn't seem to get my own silver to work and get those blues.

Very pretty beads, Lauri, is that boro? I know you usually work with boro but weren't you trying moretti recently? I might have you mixed up with another boro person.

Nancy and Moth, great frit beads from you too. I don't seem to be able to get frit beads to look nice either. I roll my bead in the frit and it just gets too much on there so there's not nice definition between the pieces. Hints?

I'm showing a set today that is on eBay and I probably have shown before a long time ago. I'm showing it again because I'm getting much better at the pictures and they might look different this time. still a little pink in the background but i'm getting there.

I'm also trying the 'attach file' feature instead of the uploader so we'll see if this works.

12-10-2003, 12:18 PM
opps! I hit preview post button, to preview the photo I tried to submit, and it sent it! Sorry. I have been trying to join in now for 4 days now, and I can't get the photo to load with the browse or uploader buttons. FRUSTRATED!!! I give up.
Anyway, lovely beads today!! I love them all!!

Jean: That pin is a great idea! I'd wear that!

Taneres: I love that set -- great colors.

First bead is Powder Pink over black core, dotted with New Violet, Perwinkle, Dk. Pink (the dot that looks white)

2nd bead is Copper Green over Dk. Turquoise.

3rd is New Violet base, dotted with Periwinkle opaque, Dk. Pink opaque, Powder Pink, and Transp. Dk. Lavendar.

(For anyone that wants to know what these combos will look like.)

I'm not sayin they look good -- but I was interested that the Powder Pink turned a nice coral color. I like the copper green & turquoise -- it has possibilities.

Oh, that is too funny, LOL.

Great beads today! I just love looking at everyone's goodies!

As usual, great beads everybody!

Allison, what frits did you use to make those stunning beads? I'm guessing pink and silver green for the first set although maybe I'm really wrong about that. I like the cammo barbie name! Both sets remind me of jelly bellies! My favorite is peach and it has little specks on it (maybe I'll make some beads like that? Hmmmm..).

Allison, The first set....."floral trellis"

23 mm x 23 mm x 15 mm

Special Note:
This works on my end - I don't know if it will on your end but I will give it a chance.
Approx. download times: 28.8 = 2 minutes, 56 = 1 minutes, 128/Highspeed = 30 seconds (I have DSL and it takes about 8 sec's)
It plays on Windows Media Player. It's not the best quality but it will give a little better perspective on all of the details of the bead.

Allison...those pink & green beads are awesome!! I just might have to watch for them on Ebay! ;)

Here's what I've got for today... my Corina challenge beads.

12-10-2003, 04:51 PM
Rebecca, your video clips are a kick! If it were me, the bead would be talking!

I have to take some pics of what I did yesterday. I had a migraine in the morning, took some drugs, and felt "better" in the afternoon - so I hit the torch! What came out is either totally fugly or bizarrely beautiful.

Love those frit beads, Allison!

12-10-2003, 05:59 PM
Allison...that first set...PINK FROGGIES. LOL

Your all giving me some great names!! Now I don't know what one to pick. Maybe I will put them all in a hat and pick one that way.

Tulips... I am getting bad at trying to remember frit colors. I mix them all up and have a bazillion piles laying out.
The first setis Vals pink frit she has and either silver green or silver aqua on EDP.
The second one.... hmmmm... This one is hard. goldstone powder with silver blue and copper ruby I think on dk purple.
