Yes...Yes, that's it! Moonlight provides such a mysterious atmosphere. Works very well. the bottom part is a little light for my taste but that's just an opinion. good subject, good work.

I like the upper part of the painting --the clouds, moonlight and tree are luminous and radiant. I also like the rhythmn of the painting.
The objects in the lower part are I think too colorful for moonlight. They would look much grayer and more subdued. As is, they look as if they're in sunlight.

A lovely painting JV - One's eye is drawn from the buildings to the moonlit clouds as if one were really looking way up into the sky.

thank you all for your kind words. i started off with the lower half of the painting being darker but it kinda looked sad. should i always follow nature when painting outdoor scenes? my art teacher says it is ok to break rules.

could you put some of these on the ground?
perhaps as shadows
