The good news is you can find out if someone you want to talk to is online.........the bad news is not sneaking in unnoticed. http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

It's a tradeoff... :-)

If its any consolation, you can now use subdomains at artistnation.com. Your web sites can now be reached at http://username.artistnation.com.... :-)

Big Brother has arrived... and he is ME. Bwaaaaa ha ha ha ha HAAAA! I have become omnipresent! I can now watch all of your moves, simple mortals!

Hey... wait a minute... you can watch me,

Don't think I don't see you lurking around back there, Miltz, Malarkey... Give me some privacy, would ya? I'm trying to post a letter here but I can't do it when you're looking at me!!!

The new web addresses are much better. It's a good thing I make my own business cards, my web address has changed about 4 times this year (previous to being on ArtistNation).

Perhaps I'll be able to remember my web address when someone asks me. It's hard to remember a 40 character string.

This is almost like having a domain name of my own.

Wow...I had no idea how many "guests" lurk! that's what looking at "Who's Online?" impressed me with!

Guess we should welcome them more! Uh..um, er, welcome lurking guests!

Scott...I tried the newer, leaner/cooler member url for myself, and the image I have does not come up, though the text does. The image does come up on my old/other artistnation url... a bug to be worked out yet???

And we thought we were just talking to each other. There are people listening in on the party line. It seems to be 90 percent guests every time I check who's online!

Wait! I was wrong...

If I log on with my other browser where there are no cookies for this site, I am a guest.

It's a cookie thing. The site uses simple cookies to figure out who is browsing, etc.

The cookies are "sessional", meaning that they will expire after each browser session. If you have rebooted, shut down your browser/restarted, or are on another machine for the first time, the system will count you as a "guest" - once you've posted a message, the system knows you by name...

Cheers.

No, no, no ....

you are listed as a guest until you post then the computer knows who you are ...

all those guests may just be 'us' before we post...
